Nashville Predators @ New York Rangers (Uprising)

Where?

26-15-4 = 56 PTS for 6th in West VS. 28-11-4 = 60 PTS for 1st in East

Nashville 8-2 in last 10. NYR 7-3 in last 10

Its like we havent moved at all in the standings with this streak. Insane how the standings are. Go Preds! Worry about yourselves!

Does that arena even have "levels" of seating? It looks like one massive lower bowl.

Anyways, go Preds. Let's take it to them even without Suter and whoever is in goal. I'm loving the current win streak. The Rags didn't look impressive at all in Montreal on Sunday night. Let's shove it right back down their throats!!!

there's been no firm confirmation either way. as of this morning, he says "you'll see."

Suter is out tonight, but remains on the trip so he could be back on Thursday vs CBUS.

Lundqvist confirmed in net for NYR, so I'd imagine we end up going with Pekka.

It's just because everyone is standing up in that shot and you can't see the concourses.

This is the only game this season I'm rooting against the Preds

If he has a big game do you explore trade market for him? I say yes.

And if he sucks against the 1st place team in the East, do you expect a loss? I say yes

Ah, okay.

Well, it will be interesting to see how our penalty kill does against your power play tonight. Granted, the only Preds game I've seen in person this year was against a terrible team (Hurricanes) where the Preds went 4/5, but for a change, your powerplay is something to worry about this year.

As for the Rangers, our offense hasn't been going all that great lately, even during our recent 5 game winning streak. Defensively, we've also had some lapses lately which I partially attribute to Staal shaking off the rust. If the Rangers win tonight, it'll be because one of their two top lines gets it going. I don't see our bottom-6 beating you guys. Also, something to keep in mind: this Rangers team is extremely resilient. Most of the time, in games immediately following bad losses, they come out with a strong effort. It's a very hard working team, so be prepared for a lunch pail game tonight.

Being reported that Lindback will start.

I really don't understand that move. If Rinne is tired, why wouldn't you have started Lindback against the Islanders and saved Rinne for the Rangers? Or, why not have Rinne go one more game against the Rangers and have Lindback play against Columbus?

Chances of a backup goalie who's played very little coming in and getting the win against the Rangers? Very small in my opinion.

Thoughts? Does Trotz just not think it's likely enough we beat the Rangers to be worth starting Rinne? Or does he just want to get him 2 days of rest, even at the cost of a game?

Lindy has to get some starts in. We're up against the best team in the league, and they sit in the opposite conference. May as well start Anders.

It could also be a smoke screen

Multiple possibilities:

Lindback was supposed to start yesterday but had a touch of illness or something, but is OK today and Trotz wants him to get one of these two.

Lindback was going to get scouted but the scout couldnt be there yesterday or the interested team wanted to see how he does against a top team not the Isles.

This is misdirection by Trotz and at gametime Pekka gets the start(cant imagine why it would matter but maybe he was hoping NYR wouldnt start Lundqvist if we announce Lindback)

Trotz decided with the Isles starting their backup yesterday he would play Peks and get a guaranteed two points and take his chances today rather than risking getting zero if Anders played poorly yesterday

truth is... its trotz... who the heck knows???

Upon reflection, I think this is the most likely scenario.

That was my assumption. When a loss here and a loss there can knock you out of the top8, I'm sure he wanted the guaranteed 2 points.

Tonight is a big test. NY has been physical and very confident as of late. Wish we had Suter. Got a bad feeling about this one.
