Pretty simple question - just wondering what sites or which twitter accounts do people around here go to for MMA news? I'm looking to streamline a bit.
For myself:
Forum use: Just this one.
Radio/Podcasts: Sherdog Radio. Huge fan of the Jordan Breen Show, and really like the Beatdown Roundtables and Beatdown After the Bell. I like the other shows too, but I just don't have enough time to listen to them.
Websites: I use the MMAjunkie app. Fightfinder for fight results. Very occasionally read on Sherdog or Bloody Elbow.
http://mma.ly/ is a good aggregator for news, it posts the top 6-8 stories from pretty much every notable MMA site out there. Personally though I usually just check the front page of Bloody Elbow every one in a while since it gets updated so regularly (just have to make sure to avoid the terrible opinion pieces).
For discussion forums I just post on this one and the MMA threads on Something Awful.
MMAFighting has Ben Fowlkes who is the best writer, and Ariel Helwani who is the best journalist in MMA.
BJPenn.com has really frequent news updates without the ****** opinion pieces you get on BloodyElbow. BloodyElbow used to be really great, but their writing is very amateurish now.
Yeah I used to check out Bloody Elbow more often, but its gone downhill. A lot of radical opinions, half-baked rumors, and shock pieces that probably bring in traffic but are complete junk.
I'd like to stop going there and following them on Twitter, but I need some good news sources so I don't miss anything.

Try following BJ on twitter, his guys post general MMA news very frequently.

Agreed. Those are two guys you should definitely follow on twitter. @MMAjunkieJohn is also pretty good but I think you get most of his stuff through the MMAJunkie twitter feed anyways.
IMO, Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour is also the best MMA podcast out there.
The only two MMA sites I go to are MMAFighting.com and MMAJunkie.com

I think bloodyelbow has been adversely affected by losing writers to MMA Nation. Brent Brookhouse isn't bad, though, and Castillo has some well written pieces. Matt Roth is god awful on the other hand. Although Sherdog has some some high quality features, I often get turned off from visiting their site because of their ugly and poorly designed website. It looks like something out of 1999. I listen to their radio programs, though, and they have been referencing a site redesign coming up soon.

I can't stand Brookhouse. All of his pieces read as a basement dweller fronting like he knows the inner workings of the sport. The only writer worse for that is Kid Nate.
Luke Thomas & Josh Gross are terrible as well. Good writers in MMA are few and far between.
I've always used mmaweekly and mmajunkie most often. I used to go on Sherdog years ago and Bloodyelbow from time to time up until a year or two ago. I never see anyone mention mmaweekly in threads like this but to me it's as good as any of the sites. Mind you, the only thing I use these sites for is to get the latest headlines and fight rumours so I can't comment on what site has the best interviews, videos etc.

Roth is hilarious because he combines bad opinions with a total inability to express himself articulately in the English language. I saved this bit from a fight preview he wrote a while ago because it was so incredibly bad:
The fight this weekend will be the most important of Barry's career. He faces a fighter in a similar situation with the UFC. Stefan Struve's career can be best described as "one step forward, one step back". The height difference is almost comical and Struve will be the fighter with the reach advantage. Barry is fortunate that Struve doesn't really manage the distance too well. The fight will really come down to Barry's ability to work inside and chopping down Struve with leg kicks. However, it really will be decided by Pat Barry's "K-1 Level" striking and killer instinct.
What are the last two sentences even trying to say? Someone call Scooby Doo and the gang because we have a real mystery here.
Most of the mma sites I used to follow have gone downhill over the years.
Its pretty much impossible to have any kind of discussion on any of them, and the content has degraded as well.
One of the sites I used to follow was Fightlinker, they were different, it was pretty much just one guy. They had a radio show, which used to be quite funny, but I think he got burnt out and he started recruiting readers to produce content. That is when they jumped the shark.
Sherdog, Bloody Elbow, MMA Mania are all crap imo. I will go to the latter two to get info, but most of my MMA info and interaction comes from here and from Showdown Joe's show. I used to enjoy Inside MMA and all the HDNET content until my service (Bell) dropped HDNET. I think Telus has also dropped HDNET as well. If anyone can confirm that for me it would be appreciated as I am still considering switching, but wont bother if they have dropped HDNET.
