I'd rather wait until the playoffs to make that call.

You might not think so but he has a big voice in the room and this has been proven many time and been quoted several times with Burkie and Wilson.

Come on, who you going to believe, Burke/Wilson or an arm-chair quarter-back on HF who has never met Komisarek?

I dont doubt Burke/Wilson when they say hes been great in the locker room. Its just at 4.5 million dollars, with young players pushing for playing time and with us close to the cap, its easy to make the case that he doesnt fit in, especially when hes struggled.

But you are right, perhaps I should meet Mike first and see if hes a nice guy before I speculate.

Why do you care how much he makes?

Well said, I knew the kid could turn it around when many wrote him off for his mistakes early on. He just needed a consistent string of games. The main thing that's impressed me about him that was totally unexpected is his physicality, he's always got his hands in the forwards faces giving them the facewash and he finishes hits. He doesn't usually lay out guys, but he finishes, that's the key.

Well I suppose it doesnt keep me up at night but I'm slightly worried about resigning Kulemin, Grabovski, Franson, Gustavasson and having the option to resign other players who have contributed like Liles, all the while finding other upgrades for the team.

The same goes for Armstrong and Lombardi I suppose. I care because I want the team I follow to be in good shape capwise and results wise. He hasnt been great for both. I agree he could be a different player come playoffs though.

you waive Armstrong and Lombardi for cap space way before you get rid of Komi. you can find bottom 6 players anywhere. Veteran stay at home dmen who play physical on a nightly basis are harder to acquire. he will be beast for us in a playoff series and I think management is banking on this.

If Komi's contract were precluding improvements to the team I would also be concerned. But MLSE has money and Burke is very creative so I don't care about his contract right now. I think it is a red herring.

Also you know with Franson that if he is given the offer to play here than he will. Its good to have guys that want to play here but even better when the guys were Leaf fans their whole life. He would probably take a home town dicount too.

I don't recall where I read this but I'm pretty sure it was a reliable/credible source. Burke had originally asked for Ellis or Blum and Poille wouldn't budge so he had to settle for Franson. Pretty good consolation prize if this is infact true

I think this is propaganda. Franson's been alright but nothing that would warrant "untouchable".

Will we? It sounds like you're setting your arguments up early!

Wouldn't any trade that improves the team have a potential impact on Ron's job? I can't imagine Burke will be making trades to make his team worse?
