There is a small chance that we reach the 30 shot plateau..not getting my hopes up.

I love how Dale was quick to point out that Rich Pilon hit him harder than he hit Pierre

Unless you are team of little to no skill, shots may be overrated.

quality scoring chances > parade of perimeter shots

I thought I heard Dale say he grades players by quality scoring chances, not shots.

This is going to sound bad but sometimes you kind of want to see your team thug it up.

Seems like the Caps typically play poorly against the Isles. Here's hoping for two points...

Lecavalier pretty much took a page out of the Dale Hunter book the other day when he sucker punched Malkin after Malkin had his way with the Bolts.

From what i read, it seems Malkin was more like Hunter, at least up until he got sucker punched

From the internets - not sure if true
Quote:
Malkin charging Kubina earlier and trying to low bridge another, spears him with a quick toe to the stomach and then reverse shoulder jacks Vinny

I thought it was more from Lucic's book and not Hunter's. Vinny got tired of the punk getting away with a lot of crap and took the only real shot you'll get on someone like that.

First Caps game I'll be attending this season, got some dirt cheap tickets. Hope they don't play to the opponent.

I don't think it's something that's ever going to go away completely... I mean, that's always been the book on him.

That's what the Cats fans all said. Looks like they were right.

I know, I'm just still sore about the last Islanders game when he let in three five-hole goals. Losing makes the drive back from Long Island a lot worse.

Heck, it was noticeable every time the Caps played them for the past few year.

Excellent goaltender, but everyone has their weakness.

At least he is now able to leave the crease and skate around and keep himself in the game, instead of sitting there waiting for a shot, thinking to himself, don't let it go 5, don't let it go 5.

It's one reason I always like the stick handling Holtby and what he brought different vs Varl and Neuv. The leagues overall talent level still mandates many many teams dump it in.

The Islanders have outshot their last six opponents so, uh, expect another uphill game.

One of the league's premiere goal scorers, Matt Moulson, is a treat to watch.

I miss gloves.

Joking aside, you seem to be catching on that it can become detrimental to a players game to have to think about doing something, that they have seemingly done every single year from probably the age of 10 on, it not closer to 4 years old, naturally.
