Who do you think/hope PG would be there looking at? Parise? Zajac? Clarkson? or maybe someone from the Jets?

anyways...if this is a non-issue, then mods please feel free to go ahead and close or move this thread.
Gauthier practicing being a scout for his future with the Habs?

If PG trades for Parise I'm gonna come to the conclusion that PG wants to fill the team with players that have french names regardless of whether they speak french or not (see Rene Bourque).

You can keep Kovalchuk until he is 35 or 36 then if his cap hit is too big let him retire or go play KHL and he comes off the cap.

My biggest concern is that his style may not fit with a contender, he is a guy that's more concerned with scoring than winning, at least the way he plays.

No he doesn't and is very responsible defensively. That was the Kovalchuk that played in Atlanta, he no longer plays that way

I wouldn't mind taking Kovalchuk of their hands but in order to do so, New Jersy needs to give us their next 2-3 years of 1st round picks seeing as though we are taking on a massive sallry.

Clarkson for Campoli +.

Clarkson - Eller - AK as the third line, and if Moen can play on the first and second line why not Clarkson? He got 15 goals this season.
Campoli + hahahaha yeah like Beaulieu.

Hopefully he his having a look at WPG. A few players of interest:

Cormier
Slater
Thorburn
Miettinen

Maybe we could send Gill/Campoli + they're way.

Cormier is the only one of those that makes sense. The others we can sign somebody similar in the summer via UFA.

I'm pretty sure Cormier was sent back to the AHL. I'd really like to have him in Montreal or a guy like Thorburn.

well for 2.6 average on the cap plus he will get 20 plus goals - sounds like a decent deal to me and is still fairly young at 27

from some of the posts in this thread habs will get parise and kovalchuk and clarkson for gomez kaberle and campolii! LOL
