Honestly not sure. I'd have to do more research; I only have a vague idea of who's on the Kings blueline roster, not who's actually doing what. I know the skillset, not the players, and I have this bad habit of daydreaming about a Bouwmeester or Suter.

I imagine they would be. And yeah, Prospal's a UFA. One I'd love to trade at the deadline and resign in the summer if he'd go for it.

I don't think there is a deal to be had for a top scoring winger right now. The Kings could do something to add depth though and I would suggest packaging one of our young defensemen (Martinez, Hickey, Muzzin, etc.) with a high pick should be what Lombardi should be trying to do to land a talented young winger from another organization that may be somewhat blocked by the talent ahead of him in his current organization.
I don't think the names Ryan, Nash, Vanek, or Doan are thinking outside the box. The Kings need to identify what they believe is a young diamond in the rough and make a fair offer to a team whose prospect pool is shallow on the back end.

Depending on their value, picks would be fine. We're hoping to do a deadline draft pick bidding war with Prospal, though (the ultimate goal would be a first-rounder), so be warned.

It's obviously unlikely if the Sabres blow up the team it will be to build around Vanek, Myers and Pominville, but since everyone ruins these threads by posting "OMFG IT WILL NEVAR HAPPEN!!!111" as if their teams GM is going to pick up the phone and do the deal if they propose it...
Something based around Jonathan Bernier would make sense, because getting a young goalie to pair with Enroth in the case of a complete rebuild - in which I'm assuming Miller is dealt - seems logical. I don't know enough about the Kings prospects to make a proposal, but something around LA's first and Bernier. I guess you guys have Stoll, Penner and Mitchell coming off the books this summer, so it'd have to be a draft day deal to get the pick, or you'd have to clear a lot of salary at the deadline.
I know he is having a tough season on a struggling team, but why all the hate?
I'm not hating.. i have hung out with him a fair amount of times, I love his game, and I love watching him play (no reason to hate).. that being said, a star d with superstar potential is always more valuable than a star winger who is a franchise player only because columbus has no one better.
I have made countless variations on a nash for doughty trade on here and thinks it helps both teams, but I don't think it is even straight up.
and I make that trade to bring JJ and Bernier here for carter and whatever in a couple seconds.. doubt martinez would even need to be thrown in.
