I'm mystified how Stephane Auger still has a job. That could have been 5 on the boarding.

No man, you got it all wrong.

We are outplaying the Isle! Out scoring them, out chancing them, out shooting them, out hitting them, out working them, out PP'ing them, out everything them.

We are GOOD

On pace for 15 shots. Good thing all of them will be quality scoring chances.

It all part of Dale's plan. Suck for 60 minutes and hope the goalie pulls one out.

Then we'll show them!! Some time...

Come on 5 shots on goal not enough?!! dale's simply lulling them to sleep before he "opens it up" in the 3rd!

Really? I would argue it the other way. 8/10 times the refs will miss what 1st happens, THEN look and only see the slash or whatever it is.

5 shots. im struggling to find the words at this point. i mean, 5 ****ing shots? against THIS team, and after looking like such limp dicks against a similarly awful team on sunday? just

one things for sure, verizon isnt gonna keep filling if this ******* product is what the fans are to expect over and over. we used to see more scoring chances in a shift than this sorry team can muster shots in an entire period (again, against one of the very worst teams in hockey). yikes.

Really? Even with the ref standing right in front of the boarding penalty that should have been called?

Retaliation for obvious dirty plays rarely gets called.

Don't see how this team can go into the playoffs with the roster the way it is.

It's interesting that people are turning against Hunter in the midst of the winning. I would've expected it to come in the 9 games after this when they actually have to play some decent teams and play some road games for a change.

hey, whats ed hochuli doing? he could be the 1st line power forward better than anyone the caps have, too.

Wasn't it the linesman standing there?

Either way its almost irrelevant where the ref is. Most times its the retaliatory penalty that gets called.

Turning on him is pretty strong. More like mocking our own ineptitude.

Hmm. The Caps are tissue-paper thin at C.

Mojo is good and getting better. But he's not ready to be counted on. With Backstrom out, what're gonna do? Beyond Mojo, the 3C and 4C positions are straight up a weakness on this team. Laich almost always loses important face-offs. Halpern tried but just isn't good enough to play above the 4C.

It's painful to watch the guys trying to get the puck up the ice without Green and Backstrom to carry it.

Lots of wasted cap space this year (Schultz, Laich, Knuble) that ought to be paying that one good player.

Come back home, Nick. And bring some friends.

If we are going to win with Laich filling in for Nick, he needs to do better on the PK if he is not getting us points as a 2C.

the Isles have had our numbers for years. May not always win, but always play us tough.

6 of 21 under Hunter. They've been outshot by just over five per game under Hunter on average. With Backstrom: outshot by 2.875...without Backstrom: 12.4. That last figure is even with a recent favorable home schedule. Brutal.
