BTW, The Pentiction Vees the team Fogarty plays for is on a role!!
I'll be popping on by for a few games, Pentiction is only a 45 minute drive and the Westside Warriros (West Kelowna) i live there, just haven't watched any games yet

MZA, I couldn't find Bourque's name anywhere. If he's been added already, please add Scott Stajcer

Hate to pile it on but MZA doesn't have the speed to = separation needed to establish his game. Faster we convert him to useful assets/cap space, the better.

Lindberg seems most deserving as to talent/potential of this bunch.
On raw talent after that it may be Pashnin, but I'm not 100% sure. Please add.
Add also Ceresnak, Stajcer, Talbot, Parlett.

Wonder what we could get for MZA? With the emergence of Hagelin he is unlikely to have a spot on this team going forward.

I don't dislike Zuccarello. I like him a lot. He's a cool guy. And a spunky little player.

But I don't have faith in him as an NHL regular. Not in NYC anyway.

If he can be traded somewhere, a bottom feeding team that can afford him an opportunity, maybe he can stick.

But it goes beyond skill. The guy is clearly very skilled. Its not that, its his physical limitations.

Fogarty has a chance to be a two way power forward. And he's very very young. That's why I see him as having more potential.

I think when we rank Ranger prospects, we do so in terms of the value they represent to the Rangers organization. None of the players you listed translated to any value whatsoever to the Rangers organization despite the fact they may have found roles elsewhere. And neither will MZA.

MZA has no future with the Rangers because he's essentially in the same situation Matt Gilroy was in last year. MZA is 24, but has not established himself as a regular on the NHL level... plus he makes $1.75M/year. He'll be a restricted free agent in the summer, and the Rangers will not make him a qualifying offer for that much money. He's not going to re-sign with the Rangers for less just to play in the minors again. So he'll either sign elsewhere where he might get a better opportunity to play, as Gilroy did, or return to Europe. It's unlikely the Rangers would be able to peddle him for even a late round draft pick simply because teams do not often make trades for players toiling in the minors making that much money.

This isn't necessarily to say that MZA will never play in the NHL. But what's the point of listing MZA among the top 10 prospects in the Rangers system if he offers no future value to the team?

The polls are done for value of the player in general. Zuke has played in the NHL, has shown flashes of being able to be a player in the league but hasn't been able to find a spot on the roster. He was passed up by a guy like Hagelin because he can play 4 minutes a night or 15 minutes a night and be effective. Zuke needs to get ice time to have impact. Put Zuke on a team where he'll get top 6 ice time and he'll play like a NHL caliber player. His value around the league is high IMO, not as high as it was coming into the league though.

If the voting was done based solely on the Rangers than our positions where we lack prospects, would be our most valuable and should be the highest on the list. Does that make any sense? It doesn't. It's about putting guys on the list who are NHL players or have the potential to be so. Zuke is already a decent NHL player IMO, but he isn't playing with us because of the depth we already have. Zuke would be a top forward prospect in a lot of organizations.

I don't rank them in terms of value to us, I rank them in terms of value overall.
