Foligno has been quite the player for us this year. I've gave him a lot of flack the past few seasons but I understand why the organization is so high on him.

Sticks up for team mates, plays a gritty game and has good offensive upside for the role he plays, also seems pretty involved in the community.

A little off topic but this is from Nucks-LA game if you haven't seen the thread on the main board.

Simply perfect.

Bonus for it happening in Toronto

Keep booing Alfie Toronto, just makes it that much sweeter

LOL from the Leafs PGT

Does anyone else in here besides me feel like its honestly not worth it at all to follow this team? Like perhaps its all just a giant waste if time that could be spend better somewhere else, and creates a bunch of unneccesary stress and puts you in a ****** mood when they constantly disapoint you and you can imagine that its looking very likely that this team will not make the playoffs in 8 ****ing years.
This is actually a serious question. I actually think it would be a good idea to quit watching and try not to care anymore, bit every night before game day I get excited to watch the game again. And the cycle continues.

Just got back from game. A few thoughts:

-Turris looked absolutely amazing, playing with Alfie has really allowed him to tap into his potential. Hopefully he is watching and learning from him.

-Karlsson has really upped his defensive game. I noticed he made much more conservative plays. Although this did translate to no points, it looks as if he's still refining his game for that perfect blend of off/def.

- that Alfie goal was pure bliss. I cannot explain the feeling of hearing constant booing of Alfie (my first game in Toronto) only to have him shut the whole stadium down with that goal - it was beautiful, I think i reached Nirvana

Nothing like a sweet Sens win to teach the trollers from last night a sweet lesson in karma. Ha ha ha! "Tml Gunners" - double loser!

Turris has been pretty much tied as our second best forward since coming over. Spezza, Alfredsson and Turris have been great. Just awesome since Turris was acquired.

Also perusing the Leafs board I noticed they are complaining a lot about the first two goals Ottawa scored. In what way are those non-goals? Spezza was standing in front of Reimer and reached over him...he didn't interfere at all but they are saying he used Reimer as a chair. The first goal by Alfie I really don't know what they are complaining about.

How was the reffing horrible?

Spezza needs better wingers.

Carkner isn't a very good hockey player.
Phillips has regressed hard.

Senators have played way more games than anyone else and it's showing. All-Star break can't come soon enough.

Senators aren't angry. Other teams are mad.
I like this summary, spot on, except I'm more mixed on Carkner.

It's crazy to played so many more games and have 2 sets of back to backs in one week. The post All-Star schedule better be a heck of a lot more balance.

Foligno is getting close to untouchable in my books. Playing like a more skilled Max Lapierre type. I love it. Something we've been missing since Ruutu.

LOL. They claim that Turris interfered with Reimer. I guess the Toronto broadcast crew didn't pick up on that Toronto was going to get a penalty for burying Turris into the net. That also happened to Neil in the first period, but no a call.

Congrats on the win, as well at least someone from ontario will be making playoffs. This season is quickly going the same route for the leafs, luckily other sports will be starting up soon to take our mind of this disaster of a season

The Jays?

To make the playoffs they need to be in another division

Boston and New York buy an almost guaranteed spot and with Tampa rebuilding better then Toronto did they get the extra wins to challenge for the wild card (or AL East 2)

The jays are a good team, but are screwed over

Ya i figured that with the jays. we need some help big time. I was more talking about the leafs though. As you can tell the leafs message board has gone nuts (don't really blame them) but if someone can judge your team properly it would be one of your rivals.

They have the lineup to make the playoffs. It really just comes down to winning against the right teams and the teams around them not going on massive streaks. I can see them finishing around 7-10, same as the start of the year. Probably a first round knockout, seeing how I can picture them playing Boston in the first if they make it. They mainly just need to grow, and find a goalie, and not be content by losing games. They need more spark type players (like Ottawa has Neil who is great for this), Toronto seems to be more of a go through the motions and hope it works type team.
