So proud of the way they handled this one. I was more worried about Nashville than I am about playing the NHL's elite. That ****in team is like the itch you can't scratch. Very scrappy bunch that loves to grind out top teams and pull off upsets. We we're pretty well in control though.
Someone needs to determine our record with and without Wolski in the lineup this season.
It seems to me our worst stretches were at the beginning of the season when he was healthy/playing and the last 3 games couple of games after he returned, pre scratch.
I think John Mitchell might have a future in broadcast. I remember thinking the same thing when Al Leiter did interviews after his move to the Yankees.

Definitely. Guy is very well-spoken and poignant with his voice.
Also Danny G wins the award for "guy i'd most like to hang out with" probably. He seems like he oozes the driest of dry senses of humors.

HM to Girardi, who is playing phenomenally defensively. The team really clicked tonight defensively. Hopefully they realize this is what they have to do to create chances and keep the other team from getting good shots off.
Girardi could need some shooting practise, he misses the net a lot. I really like the MDZ-Stralman pairing, nice first passes and surprisingly good in their own end.
Finally got to see the replay. Good, solid win and for the most part a very good defensive effort.
Glad to see Lundy bounce back strong. The top line was pretty good, the Boyle line was excellent and the top 4 D played well. This team still needs another top 6 scorer IMO

hah, it's definitely true. BTW, Callahan reminds me so much of Messier when he talks.
“You definitely hear it when you’re on the ice, and then when you get back to the bench you realize how neat it is to have such knowledgeable fans that they cheer when you do the job by just chipping it in.”

Jaime Lannister has better hands than Brian Boyle.
The entire game, but especially in the last ten minutes, the defense was like a smothering blanket, almost like a snuggie. Jumping lanes, intercepting passes, poke checking, it was incredible to watch really. The puck possession up front was great, but it really started with the defense forcing turnovers and getting it back to the forwards when necessary.

Well said. The effort level was high all around and the team defense reminded me of Renney's "five in the picture" rhetoric. Smothering is very accurate. Any time it looked like Nashville might have an opening for a scoring chance, multiple rangers collapsed on the right guys and if there WAS a chance, nobody was going to get to a second chance. I think Nashville had one legit rebound chance all game, and it was after legwand's partial breakaway.
Also, gotta say that Weber had little to no impact on the game last night. For the poster who told me Weber is the best defenseman in the league, where was he last night? He took a shot wide. He jumped into the rush once and put a soft pass on net, and he cross checked Dubinsky blatantly late in the third because he couldnt legally outwork dubi for the puck. Not saying he still isn't a top 10-15 defenseman, but Ryan Suter puts his stamp on the game nearly every shift, and IMO is the much better defenseman. 7.5 for what Weber does is bad. The only thing that stands out above the other defenseman in his price-range is his shot and goal production. Again, I'd much rather have Girardi at 3.3 or Staal at 3.9 than Weber at 7.5! You can basically have Weber or you can have Staal AND Girardi for the same cap space. I think Suter may be the best defenseman in the game, all things considered, and I still wouldn't want to sign him for more than 6.5 per.
