Penner is starting to look like the player we wanted last year in the trade. I think Sutter has been a good influence on him. Good to see and great game by Quick.

Johnny is a hilarious nickname for Jack. I would have thought that nicknames would be shorter than the guy's actual name, or that he'd call him Jackie.
I still don't see how Bieksa went down at the end of 2nd. I tried watching the highlights and it looked like someone threw a stick at his face.
I think Kopi lost his stick along the boards and the puck landed nearby. When Brown went to play the puck, he flipped the puck and the stick right into Bieksa's face.
When the hell are the Sharks going to catch up game wise?!
I've been wondering the same thing, so checked out their two calendars side by side to try and see when...this might be overkill, but here are some key dates:
January 24 (All-Star break) - Sharks will have 3 games in hand.
February - Sharks have 2-4 games in hand all month.
March 1 - Sharks will have only 1 game in hand for the first time.
March 15 - Both teams will have played their 70th game by day's end (Kings getting to 70 two days before).
March 20 - Sharks@Kings, play each other for their 73rd game each.
March 29 - First time we will have 1 game in hand on the Sharks...it only lasts for one day.
April 5 & 7 - Sharks@Kings, Kings@Sharks for games 81 and 82
Our last five games our first line has been producing:
Kopitar 3G, 4A
Williams 3G, 4A
Brown 2G, 2A
Feel like Willy needs to get a little more praise around here
Williams has been a lot more tenacious, especially tonight. Prior to the last few games, he would try to do too much and end up turning over the puck. He's been able to manage that better on this trip.

If there's a any time the Sharks are going to struggle through some games, that would be it. Our three games against them will be huge if we keep playing the way we have been.
we really have to learn how to close the game in regulation. We have way too many games that go to OT and shootout. How are we supposed to be a playoff team when we depend on such things.
Good game, but we still have to be a lot better...
Kings are off for eight days at the end of this month; I haven't checked the schedule but I believe a few of the games will be made up then...the last part of that eight days is the ASG break.
Eight days! That's crazy. Hope we don't lose the mojo with that much time off. I can see us losing the first game back, it's hard to keep the momentum up for that long.

John Johnson and John Johnson Jr. Glad to see they really went all out in the thought process before picking a name.

Indeed. We made up a portion of that huge gap we have between home and road games, and still managed to go almost perfect. If our offense had shown up in Edmonton the first two periods, we would have had a perfect sweep.
We now have a five point cushion over ninth and are only six points out of first in the conference. If the boys can play this way the rest of the season, we can move up a few more points yet.
It was a good game, and the best game I've seen from Penner as a King IMO. How we win and the Nucks get two of the three stars is beyond me. Penner should have had third star.
Overall, a very good game for our offense. Still need some finish out there, but that wasn't a two goal performance, more like a 4-5 goal performance. It should have been 3-0 after the first for us.
I'm very pleased with how DS has the team playing. It's more fast, uptempo, and man I never thought I'd ever say those words and Sutter in the same sentence.
I remember when someone said they didn't want to do a first half highlights video of the Kings season because they figured it would just be 90% about Quick saves. So far, it doesn't look like the same can be said of the second half.
Great road trip, we were dominate in Calgary and Vancouver and our goaltender stole us a point in Edmonton. Now we have a four game homestand, in which I feel all four are very winnable games, and the Kings have a great chance to gain back some more ground if they stay focused. It's been a long 14 games but the Kings are finally now back in a position to really control their destiny. Go Kings!
That was one of the first games this season where I've seen the Kings really fly in the neutral zone with speed in transition. This team is so much faster than they've been playing.
