Prior to the baby's birth, Plekanec was at a .81ppg pace with 22 points in 27 games. The game after the birth, Plekanec has 9 points in 18 games at a .5 ppg pace with only 3 goals. So my theory was that Plekanec has more things on his mind than hockey right now.

Turns out, rds did a piece with Plekanec recently, in which they asked him if his baby has affected his play. They also lifted the stats I used.

Might be a coincidence, but I wouldn't be surprised if half those "journalist" come on this forum to steal ideas to use for pieces.

I doubt that they lifted your idea. Seems like common sense for anyone really to speculate on the effects of the birth of Plecky's child pre-occupying his mind a little bit.

the timing of their article is what makes it fishy. I had been suggesting the idea here for a while and then decided to post some stats in regards to it. Next thing you know, a week later, it ends up as an article on rds.

Those butt-holes!!!

Came up with the idea 2 weeks ago and posted the stats last week. The article came out yesterday. I know I'm stretching it, I'm mostly just fooling around, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

#Capitals: Rene Bourque risque d'avoir de la visite. John Erskine sera en uniforme et les Caps n'ont pas oublié son geste contre Backstrom.

given that Erskine hasn't played in a while and all of a sudden is inserted in the lineup...won't this considered pre-meditated if an injury occurs? I hope the refs watch this one closely.

He'll likely challenge Bourque as they line up for a face-off.

Here's a mise-o-jeu proposition for tonight that should be a lock and pays very well!!!

Will a 5-minute major penalty be called for fighting?

Yes-1.95
No-1.50

Here's another good one:

Total number of hits in the match for Andrei Kostitsyn-MTL

More than 2,5-2.15
Less than 2,5-1.40

if he gets 3 or more hits it pays 2.15$ not too bad of a prop me thinks

And I hope Bourque declines the invitation. No need to "impress" his new fans.

No chance. He knows he has to answer for what he did. Has nothing to do with the fans.

Exactly. He went after a star, not he has no choice. If he doesn't go, it will look even worse IMO

We don't have a guy of Erskine weight class and I doubt Moen will want to drop them. This is Rene's problem to settle, we have all 4 games left against the Caps, they will get him

Exactly. I agree Borque needs to step up, that's the NHL norm, but it doesn't mean he needs to fight a full on heavyweight goon.

I meant he (Rene) could fight someone else.. like Hendricks. More of a fair fight.
