Man, that's heartbreaking, Bachman played so damned well.

Ugh, another damn loser point.

Sucks, but I guess it'll have to do.

Stars still cannot win in the 2nd half of a back-to-back, worst in league. Boo. Bachman was great, one point better than nothing. Gotta move on.

Ya I'm glad we got a point out of this. Only a point out of 8th with a Game on Hand or more on the teams ahead of us. Very winnable game against Tampa on Friday.

A point lost.. Why not Ott or Vincour shooting 3rd??

But a great 1st period which is a good building block towards the weekend..

BTW It was great to hear R&R between commercial breaks.. It seems always happen in games against the Wings I'm hearing these. Absolute gold, it's still going on HAH

I know.

I'm still opposed to the idea of rewarding teams for losing, though. So two loser points is two points too many as far as I'm concerned.

The way I see it, the Stars are now 24-21.

Daley was clutch in the last SO he did, I'm not complaining. Ott would have been a horrible choice.

Anything juicy from R&R? I'm jealous.

True but it's a lot better then teams close to us in the west

ex: Kings 22-24, Wilds 22-24, Yotes 21-25

After watching this game I think I would rather have Datsyuk as my top line center than Wandell. Sorry guys.

Ott would have definitely been an awful choice, I would have gone with vincour or goose if I was coach

I'm glad we got a point we need to start losing getter essentially if we want to make the show

I don't mind the loser point. It's the winner point that really bugs me. Both teams deserved a point tonight, but I don't think either deserved two.

I just miss ties, basically.

Wandell looked worlds better offensively in what I watched (than last game, not Datsyuk ). Much improved over last game.

Thoughts from the front of section 313:

Vincour's a nice player off the puck, good at reading where passes will be and breaking them up. Didn't see a lot of offense from him, but it's his first game back. Glad he's healthy again. Much rather see him than Wathier. Petersen was invisible, Dowell pretty good.

Wandell has all the tools but no idea how to use them. I don't know if it's a lack of hockey sense or a feet ahead of his brain, but he created so many good moments that just fizzled because of a puzzling pass or a weak shot. He just doesn't seem to be able to find his linemates with passes once he's drawn or beaten coverage. Maybe he gets tunnel vision? It's frustrating because he creates such great space and turns it into nothing. Datsyuk schooled him a few times, but it's Datsyuk, and I can't fault Wandell for that.

Daley was a man possessed tonight. There's not much funnier than when he revs up at his own blueline. You know he's going to make one of his wide circular trips around the offensive zone that's all elbows and knees.

Both goals against resulted funny scenarios. Bachman kind of misread the first one, and he never really got set for the Holmstrom shot. Second was just a flukey bounce. I would like the Stars to get one of those please.

There's way too much of a gap between the forwards and the D on the breakouts, and it's all the forwards, not just one. I think they're looking to stretch the ice, but it just leads to too much time with the defenseman with a puck on his stick looking to break out.

Bachman was great, good at angles and coming out to challenge. Great at seeing the puck through traffic. Rest of the team pretty good. Needed more shots on net and traffic in front, but they didn't let the Red Wings own the puck for the entire game this time. Power play even looked pretty decent. First Souray point I remember in ages.

Not a bad night. My dad joked that with the lineup the Stars threw out there, the Red Wings should be embarrassed that they let the Stars get a point, and he's not wrong about that. Good effort and hustle to make up for a decided lack of skill up front.

Not to rub salt in any wounds, but it came up in the press box. Ty Conklin now 8-11 in shootouts with .527 career save percentage.
Ouch. Come back soon Ribs.

We should trade Peterson for Erik Christansen, who's rotting in NYR's press box. At least he's a great SO player. Worth having on the 4th line over players like Peterson who do absolutely nothing. He can also play spot top 6 Center moments too when injuries hit, though he is in now way a real top 6 player.

That's exactly my point, though.....Dallas has more wins than all of these teams. Yet in Bettman's NHL, that means absolutely nothing because the Kings apparently take longer to lose more games, and thus are five points ahead of us and in a playoff spot while we aren't.

I've said it before, but as much as I want to see the Stars make the playoffs, I would almost rather we didn't if our spot is determined solely by undeserved loser points.

Wins are all that should matter, nothing more.

I think loser point only makes sense if you take away from what the winner would receive if they had won in regulation. Maybe 3 point games, and if you win in regulation, you get 3 points, but if it falls into OT/SO, the eventual winner would have to give up a point and only receive 2. That might give a little extra motivation to win in regulation.

European style. I don't know why they've never switched to this tbh. Seems a lot more foolproof.
