The Movie "Goon"

Was on facebook today and saw a preview of a new movie called goon coming out. Wanted to show you the trailer..Looks pretty funny to me.

http://www.magnetreleasing.com/goon/index.shtml

"Goon is an instant classic for hockey fans and lovers of searing lowbrow humor."

-The Montreal Gazette

About The Film

Labelled an outcast by his brainy family, a bouncer overcomes long odds to lead a team of under performing misfits to semi-pro hockey glory, beating the crap out of everything that stands in his way.

Wasn't Kevin Smith initially involved in this? I see no mention of him in the credits.

Kevin Smith is directing his own hockey film called "Hit Somebody."

I will see it because it's a hockey movie. Unfortunately, that doesn't always mean it will be good. Slapshot 3 was absolutely abysmal. I mean, I probably should have expected as much but... much worse than I could have imagined. What an abortion of a movie.

Obviously loved the original Slapshot. I might get crucified for this but Slapshot 2... while not as good as the original, wasn't all that bad. If you take it as a standalone movie and forget the name "slapshot", it's not bad. Youngblood is a great one too for those who haven't seen it.

Yep! It's based loosely on the Warren Zevon song based on the same name. You might recognize Dave Letterman on the Chorus.

Goon looks pretty dumb, but i'll watch anything based on hockey. I mean anything.

I saw the trailer a few weeks back I'm always up for a hockey movie and it looks decent enough I'll definitely go check it out.

That was a good one too. Forgot about that one. In my opinion, the original slap shot and youngblood are better but Mystery Alaska was good.

And how dumb am I leaving out Miracle? Even though it's a disney movie it's right up there with the greats.

Steve Thomas was on Youngblood. Had him autograph the movie for me when he was with the Isles. I showed him the video and he was like "Oh no, not this!"
