Hoping he is ok. Looked like his head is hit. Hoping if it is a concussion that he can have a speedy return like Michalek did. He has turned into an excellent third line center. Our center depth with Spezza- Turris- Smith really gets me excited. Come back soon Smith
well, i hope i'm wrong, but that collision looked really, really, really bad. like crosby bad. it looked to me to be the exact same kind of play. it was an inadvertent, glancing blow from the side that snapped his head back and spun him around. cherry actually made a really good point after the crosby hit that applies here too- whenever you see a guy spin around and rotate on the ice afterwards. its not good. that sideways rotation on top of the impact of the hit is really bad stuff.
i really hope i'm wrong, but from where i saw that hit it looked a helluva lot like the hit that knocked crosby out for over a year now.
they reported on TEAM1200 this afternoon that doggy and smith are at practice today. if thats true i am pleasantly surprised. you wonder why they're calling up dacosta if they're both good to go though.

Because DaCosta>Condra for that second line. BM is going to try to fill that whole from within the organization with these skilled guys so he doesn't have to move any assets. He wants to see if DaCosta and Petterson can do it.
My guess is that they are starting to look at what they have on the farm for this yr & future yrs before they decide to make a trade at the deadline. If Boro can fit on this team going forward than maybe they make Kuba available. If not, they reassess to see if they can get what they want through trade, draft, UFA or extend. My guess is that Kuba could be the only guy traded or better said just a one for one kind of trade since they are playing so well. It might not be Kuba it could be a prospect or pick for a roster player.
