More Nash to Toronto

Here's the latest,

On Nash...

amazed at how many people are talking among league insiders about the Leafs pursuit of Rick Nash and how many give it a definite chance of occurring..

take it away HF Boards

Why even post this? You can now cement the fact that Nash will never be a leaf.

Burke would be sending a lot the other way but I want to see a big scorer in TO. Him or Ryan would be sweet.

We'd have to give up quite a bit in salary for Nash, it'd be pretty hard to budget him in.

Eklund is an idiot, sorry to say it but he really is. He has a rumor about the Flyers trading Voracek to the Kings for picks to free up cap space.. this is after today it came out that Voracek agent was in town discussing an extension for him. All he had to do was check his twitter feed to see that...

Was thinking about this as a possibility earlier today. Really don't buy it being a "Rumor" but I could see it being a possibility If Burke is willing to move enough pieces. But at the same time I have always thought trading Nash would be a very bad decision for the future of the Blue Jackets franchise, at the moment he has got to be the only face in that market they can promote the team with. But I suppose they could be looking ahead at Yakupov being the future of the Blue Jackets, and Nash could reel in some pieces to build around him.

Lord I hope not. That contract makes me want to vomit. I'm a big fan of Nash, but the cost of acquiring him and the hit to the cap just make it such an ugly idea for the Leafs.

IMO he's a typical "small market" player, put him in a major market and *fizzle*
remember the greatest player on a ****** team looks phenomenal.
ie: Jason Blake's last year on NYI he scored 40!

What the leafs pay komisarek and armstrong is the same nash gets and I'd rather have nash then those two even though he's overpayed. Not sure what it would cost though. That salary would have to change the value a bit.

Bobby Ryan and Rick Nash have been Leafs for the past three years, the deals are just being finalized.

Basically by trade deadline, Leafs will have an all star team with Getzlaf, Ryan, Nash...

Doesn't Nash have a NTC and he has stated that if he was moved it would be to a different small market team?

Eklund is not a reliable source. Why can't we just make that official here?

You're comparing Jason Blake to Rick Nash. Kk just making sure I read that correctly. Has Nash played on another team? How would you know that? Crystal ball perhaps?

b/c he played hockey in the OHL where I'm from, so I've watched him since he was 16 and heard/read NUMEROUS interviews and articles. And if I recall he said alittle while ago that he had no intention to move to a "major" hockey market.
So maybe thats it. (The comparison was a loose one)

Amen.

I'd rather trade less assets for Jeff Carter. We need a centre, not another winger.
