Someone step up on this sinking ship!

I'm as big a Wild fan as anyone but holy _ _ _ _ someone on this team needs to step up! Everybody has injuries maybe not as many or to as many key offensive players as the Wild has had the past 6 weeks but holy crap one of these guys needs to step up and lead this team to some wins.

The main passengers here seem to be Cullen, Heatley, Seto and Clutterbuck. Honest to god you guys are playing yourselves out of jobs once the kids arrive.

I wish I made what these "hockey players" make to basically screw up all the time at my job.

If were going with a sinking ship metaphor, I think the best option for the Wild at this point would be to try to completely wreck it and go for the insurance fraud (lottery pick).

I just dont see the Wild pulling out of a slump this deep, that has been going this long.

Not unless something absolutely HUGE happens.

This is where my argument always comes in when people want to take the "C" away from Koivu. Time and time again, whenever he's been out, nobody has taken the opportunity to take the reigns. Many wanted Cullen to take over in the beginning of the season based on his early success. Well, where has he gone? While he's still doing his job in other ways, he can appear invisible quite often. Then people wanted Brodz when he was playing well. And just where did he go? Have either of these two guys appeared to care more, work harder, and show better leadership when Koivu has been out this year? Not really.

While I understand that they are tired and often forced to play out of their usual roles (due to injuries), there's no reason why a guy (who may have better leadership) couldn't step up. So where is he? Where is this better qualified captain that so many have said that this team has? Do they keep him locked in the basement? Because I don't see anybody taking control or skating one extra stride to make something happen. Instead, they're heading to the bench early instead of trying to make a play....they're pouting on the bench....and they're taking unsportsmanlike penalties to make themselves feel better.

Don't get me wrong, Mikko has a lot of bad moments on the ice too. He's far from perfect as a captain, but show me another player on this team who seems to be better qualified.

On the flip side, all that proves is that Koivu is better than minor leaguers.

You saying Cullen, Brodz, and company are minor leaguers?

I could get behind that idea, honestly.

I'm not convinced this team could beat your average AHL team.

They couldn't beat the Aeros right now. They couldn't even beat the Gophers. Heck, they couldn't even beat District 5!

I said somewhere that the Wild look worse than a PeeWee squad.

I stand by that.

Maybe it's time to goon it up.

Kassian would be a start. I'm sure there other goons they could add for dirt cheap. Old time hockey.

Hey it worked for the Chiefs

However on the other side of that, we have no leadership period. Even with Koivu in game. He's the best of the worst.

I sometimes get confused during the intermissions as to which team I came to watch. The only difference is that the wild don't get the bowling pins being knocked over sound when they run into each other.
