Thought #1-After watching the CBJ/NSH game last night, Nash was by far the best player on the Jackets (Carter is out). Not that this is news to anyone, but he stands out in a big way. I can't see him getting traded.

Thought #2-It's amazing, when the Leafs are in the thick of a tight playoff race, how many rumors involving the Leafs the regulars put out for site traffic. All they seem to do is pick teams stars and connect them to Toronto.

Leafs fans provide the most hits to sites. There is never a flood of rumors out of small market teams.

If Komisarek is going the other way in the package I would be more than fine with Nash's cap hit.

Even with loooooooooong contract, I think I'd rather have Carter.

The only way I would even begin to consider a Nash trade is if Columbus took back MacArthur and Lombardi as a start to any other assets.

I am not that big on Nash, I find him to be overpaid and underperfroming. He floats a lot, and seems to be wasting his vast potential...

Nash has been the best player on the Jackets for 8 years, and where exactly has that got them? History has shown that CLB is terrible at drafting/developing players. I think this team needs some proven talent coming back in a trade for Nash to provide depth. If they can get a couple of young, solid roster players and a top prospect back in a deal I would like their chances of being a better team in 2 - 3 years.

Even getting a good return of Carter would make sense if they are getting multiple assets that can be added to the roster right now.

I say two capable lines are better than one.

What this tells me is that Burke is trying to land a big scoring forward that fits in with the age group of his team. Not really a big secret seeing as he has been trying to do this since he came to the Leafs.

Nash is a Captain. The Leafs have a guy for that, this year, don't they?

Is Phaneuf going to Columbus? Phaneuf and Kadri for Nash?

I see a lot of parrallels between Phaneuf and Nash.

MacArthur
Bozak
Armstrong/Pick/Prospect
Komi

Can we stop these rumour threads, they lead to a lot of *****ing and whining from fans of other teams. Most of these probably won't happen anyway so why not wait until something is confirmed

Burke has loved Nash for a long time now. If he were available, I have little doubt Burke would be all over him...however, Columbus needs him more so I don't see them trading him at all.

If we didn't talk about stupid rumours then this board wouldn't exist.

What Columbus needs is a proven management team who is committed to building through the draft and developing players. Until this happens Columbus will be a bottom feeder in the NHL. IMO a guy like Rick Dudley would be a good candidate as the GM. He drafted and developed The Lightning team that won the cup only to have Jay Feaster take over in a championship season and get all the credit. Dudley also had his finger prints all over the Blackhawks as assistant GM to Dale Tallon only to have Stan Bowman take over in a chapionship season and get all the credit there too. Until Columbus finds a new GM they should not trade away their star player.

True, I'm just tired of fans from irrelevant teams crying that there are too many rumours about Toronto

Forget playoff race, the Leafs generate a TON of traffic for HF regardless. The site runners and mods should be thankful

He stole this from Dreger, who said this on a Buffalo radio station this morning.
