What a save Smitty! I would have said Smitty should have just prayed that he didn't embarrass himself because he doesn't stand a chance against Datsyuk, but man what an amazing glove save.

Still lost in the shootout. LOL. Smitty is Smitty, but I still think we should have retained him instead of Roli.
One of these years we'll get a goalie and keep him!
Len Barrie is an idiot.

Reason: Barrie's a *********.
Should he go and pretend to be happy and nice to someone who he obviously doesn't like?
Yes. The president of his own country invited his team to the white house to honor them for winning the cup. He's probably not the only guy who isn't a fan of Obama. If it's actually true that Thomas did this for political reasons, I find that completely classless and lost a lot of respect for him.
It may be completely unrelated to politics, I guess we have to wait for Timmy to explain himself on facebook later.

Yeah it's an honor when your president invites you over. They're not there to talk politics. It's a celebration and recognition for winning a cup, something our team never got to do way back when.
Chiarelli told SI.com that the team had discussed the matter with Thomas in recent months, and that the staunch conservative is expected to explain his reasoning on his Facebook page Monday evening.
...
In the Bruins’ 2011-12 media guide, Thomas, a Republican, cited conservative TV pundit Glenn Beck as the person he’d most like to have dinner with.
I'm facepalming because Thomas is just going to look like an idiot. If he made this over an issue he disagreed with the administration on, he could transcend the sport, and become an icon to likeminded people. My gut's telling me it's not for #OccupyWallStreet or something the media will care about.
No one's talked about Kenya in forever now, it'd be classless, but sort of hilarious if that was the reason Thomas didn't go. Or going back to the gold standard. lol
or farm subsidies.
or Daylight Saving Time - Now *that* I could get behind.
Could you imagine how epic it would be if Tim Thomas didn't meet with the President because he thinks the US should abandon DST?
or Metric?
It's also good that we passed on him, as we're going to be on a first-name basis with the President in the coming years.
