Gauthier is one of the best GM's in the league... in backwards bizzaro world.

Lol Derek Roy big and strong eh? Ignite the habs too? Notsureifsrs..

Anyway Patrick Caisse who I know isn't reliable but ill just throw out the names he said PG was looking at...
Patric Hornqvist (Predators), Ryan Suter (Predators), Shea Weber (Predators), Bobby Ryan (Ducks), Mikkel Boedker (Coyotes), Martin Hanzal (Coyotes) et Kyle Clifford (Kings). Atleast it makes some sense those were the games he was scouting out west

If Gauthier trades our first pick, my room will suffer destruction.

P.S., i like roy. i do. but not on this team.

Can you imagine he trades for Roy after just a week ago he said he wants to build and get bigger going forward? Gauthier

Not sure if Hornqvist is a fit unless it's a salary dump as part of a bigger trade.

I watch both teams very closely. Being that I'm a Buffalo native who roots for the Habs. Roy is better skill wise then DD, but DD plays much harder. and believe it or not, so does Pleks and Eller. If Montreal could somehow dump Gomez on Buffalo, I'd be all for it. But it's unlikely since Buffalo is one of the 2 teams he would never play for. The Islanders are the other team.

Why is everyone freaking out? Why wouldn't we want a small (5'9" 184lbs), injury prone, playmaking centre in our line up? Seems like the PERFECT fit for a Habs team who are huge down the middle.

Hornqvist would be a good replacement for Kostitsyn if he walks as a UFA.

He may only be 5ft9 and 184lbs but he plays like he's 5ft10 and 195lbs.

I would take him gladly. He's small, but with the season he has I don't think he'll cost that much and will make this team better than right now.

Eller-Roy-Kostitsyn

This could be amazing.

If Gauthier trade Eller + 1st for Roy i will personally hunt him down and then slap him with a wet noodle for 1 hour straight.

Oh and people should make the difference between "rumor" and "educated guess". Roy could be a rumor based on the fact that it's really coming out of left field. But educated guess is like a guy like Patrick Caisse does or like Eklund and all those great sites we love and adore who are pretending they know stuff, and when they do they make it seems they had it when they actually talked about a "big guy" coming. Or they might even have 1 player name from time to time, out of the 12456 players they have named just in the past year. Hey, Gauthier is looking at LA, Gauthier just said he realized we have to get bigger....boom....Kyle Clifford etc. Suter and Weber, future UFA's etc.....

That's the business of educated guesses. And frankly, it does seem to work for them.

1-Kostystyn shouldn't walk as a UFA, trade him or sign him. 2-we can get a similar player as a uFa without giving up assets.

Yes he is. I've actually spoken to him in French many times and, although he's lost some of it, it's not bad at all. It's certainly not "pure laine" but ...

IMO I wouldnt even give Eller straight up for Roy.
I know that's just what Buffalo fans are hoping for, but I seriously hope Gauthier is not stupid enough to trade our 1st round pick this year. It could be a top 5 pick for crying out loud.

You hope and pray Habs have learned that from past fails and do the right thing this time. I'm still not convinced

So move our only large centre to the wing to make room for another undersized centre. Ummm.... no thanks....

Plex vs Crosby
DD vs Malkin
Roy vs Staal

See where I'm going with this?

If Kostitsyn is going to walk, trade him to Nashville for Hornqivst. He's coming off a bad year, they are very similar players, and Nashville apparently wants Andrei to reunite the brothers.

Plus I feel Hornqivst would explode offensively on another team. Someone who scores 20 goals in Nashville is good for 30 goals somewhere else.

Just cause he CAN speak french doesn't mean he's a francophone. I'm bilingual but I wouldn't say I'm a francophone.

I just mention this because people have this idea that he's a Briere or a Giroux type of franco-Canadian. He's not. He pronounces his last name as "ROY" like a guy name Roy, not "Roi"
