If Nash wanted to be a Leaf, he'd be a Leaf. He wouldn't have re-signed in Columbus, but he did. He has no interest in playing for Toronto specifically according to most insiders, most recently Kypreos last week on Primetime Sports. Likely not any big-market team. This will not happen.

As a Leafs fan, I hope they have absolutely no interest in Nash. Overpaid by 3 million or so.

While I will agree with you on Nash not necessarily wanting to play for Toronto, I will say that only thing that Kypreos is an "insider" for is the foam helmet his parents gave him as a child

Yeah that Nash guy is cool. Not sure why I should bring Toronto into it.

Two things. First I see lots of we need a center posts but if there end up being no centers avalible and no number one centers in free agency this summer then we keep what we have and improve other areas even if it's not the top need nash doesn't make the leafs worse. Second we need size in the top six no matter what position and nash brings size, skill and can play on both the PP and PK.

Lupul - __ - Kessel
Kulemin - ____ - MacArthur
Frattin - _____ - Kadri

You can see, our issue is not on the wings

take it away HF Boards
Eklund needed to pay off the credit cards he maxed out during Christmas. He needed to find a few gullible fans in the Greater Toronto area to add to his hits this month.

Doesn't it amaze you that once a week that he has a "rumor" blog including just about every team that has high activity here on HF Boards? He must be slacking off though because the said rumor blog forget the required Habs rumor.

Of course not. Why would the Jackets trade him after the incredible success they've been with him?

there is probably a better chance of them acquiring Brassard than Nash, Brass is a centre and thats what is needed. They don't need another overpaid superstar on the wing.

Even if it did happen... then what. Toronto would be in the exact same position now as they were this summer looking for a #1 center.

Boston won last year with a deep team but not a true number one center. Another impact player who can take over games and help take the heat off Kessel/Lupul is a good consolation prize if the Leafs can't find the #1 center they are looking for.

I don't think Nash will be traded until Nash wants to be traded.

As sad as it is, he is happy flying below the radar here in Columbus. The front office is in no position to trade him because he is what the casual fan holds on to here in Columbus. "Well the team sucks, but at least we have Nash" That coupled with the immense amount of loyalty in this franchise, Nash will not go anywhere until he asks to go somewhere.

Burke tried to make Nash a Canuck when he was running the team. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still trying to acquire him.

Nash Rumors

Everybody on this board hates Eklund, but EVERYBODY on this board still posts about him and what he is saying! I am not an expert enough to say whether he is full of crap or not, but he surely is effective as hell getting people to pay and hanging on every trade rumor! He is the internet version of Howard Stern! people who hate him and love him listen to him to see what he will say next. I really don't care who Eklund is, but I hope he reveals one day and its some big time NHL reporter or former GM or something like that who is really connected. Get off of it and either have fun with his rumors or don't post, last time i checked nobody on this board is in NHL front office positions to effect a move and legitimize a rumor. Its all for fun!

Any trade for Nash will need a major package of picks/prospects with a roster player going back.

Personally I can't think of many teams willing to put a package together like that if any.

IF Nash were to ever go without him asking for a trade, it would probably be to a team that was like Toronto when we got Kessel. A big market team or a team under a lot of pressure, that is low in the standings and is willing to give up high picks for an immediate return.

A team like Montreal this season. Not saying that will happen at all but that's how I picture it. Unless he asks out one day, that would throw the value into mad confusion
