Oh you mean the same guy who put up 42 pts in 47 games last year? Oh yea that guy.
Paces are cool. Though they would be much more meaningful for a player that could play an entire season. It is funny to call a player a 70 point winger when he has only done it twice in his career and hasn't done it in 4 years. If he was as valuable as some would make him out to be, why wouldn't the Oilers be interested in keeping him? Not like they are a great team with no spots available.
I have a suspicion the Wings are kicking the tires on pretty much any top6 quality forward who hits the market. I also bet that the pieces available (Tatar, Kindl, picks, some combination there of) is pretty consistent in all of the conversations.
Which player gets bumped out of the top six in Detroit? Not Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Filppula, or Franzen. Bertuzzi won't get bumped because Datsyuk always plays with a big body who retrieves pucks so that leaves Hudler. Hudler is on pace for 22 goals and 50 points.
What utter nonsense. Not at all worth trading in that case.
The thing about Hemksy is we have no idea how really good he is. The biggest feathers in Hemkys cap are that #1 He made Shawn Horcoff a very rich man. Horcoff rode Hemskys coat tails for years. And #2 In all most all occasions except for this last time he came back from injuries and produced at the same level as he had done throughout his career.
It will be interesting to see what happens. One of two things will happen, either fans will be aghast at just how much he fetches in a trade or he won;t be traded. I don't see any way at all that Tambellini will accept a 2nd rounder and a medium to low prospect.
I'm fine with Nashville taking a waiver on the guy, but if any of Josi, Blum, Ellis, or our 1st this year are involved, I will be very unhappy. 2/3rd + Charles Oliver Roussel I am very okay with, but i doubt EDM fans are. I don't want Hemsky at full value, but he's worth a shot if his injuries and rental status really chop down his value.
Fine last year .89 PPG the year. The year before that 1.0 PPG.
And over that entire two year time period he played all of 64 games. That's part of his body of work too. So over the past three years you have two years where he's sat more games than he played along with one year (this season) where he may as well have. Don't get me wrong; he'd look great on the 3rd line with Helm and Cleary, I just wouldn't give up too much for him.
No, the Oilers wait till the deadline every time they make a trade. It's when GM's are desperate and get the max value.
whats crazy is the # of oiler fans who seem to take it personal when other fans downplay oiler players value.
here its simple, detroit fans dont want hemsky so dont bother trying to guage return value because we will never offer you what you want.
to us he is a injury prone ufa rental. you will not get a top 5 prospect or a 1st rounder, if thats dosent sit well with you then simply stop lookin at the red wings as a potential trade partner and your feelings wont get hurt
