Andrei doesn't need to be explained this, he knows very well. It is obvious that he doesn't care about the money (or at least the small difference of what this will do).

At the end of the day, despite what many believe, not all agents are bloodthirsty vampires either. The number 1 purpose of a player agent is to provide a service, and to make his client happy.

Only way this can work is if we sign him before july 1st, but theres always a eam out there willing to throw money at these types of players, we cant let him see a possible 5 mill as longshot as it may be

Good news if true. Only thing is - what IS his market value? Hopefully that's not blown out of proportion. He's worth keeping if it's a bargain. Especially if we land a star centre or 2.

Realistically he is a 3 million dollar a year player at most. He puts up around 40-45 points a year.
He earns bonus points by willing to accept a cut, period. Who are you to set his value or to question his generosity? Would you take a salary cut to remain in your present job?

That's a naive statement. If you had said not all PLAYERS are greedy, I'd say yes, but agents? Nah.

If I'm a Habs fan I'm hoping Montreal re-signs him, he's willing to take less to stay, it would be a great feel good story for a team that badly needs some positive news.

Too lazy to move somewhere else I see.

Can we please find an adequate setup man for him?

Even if he was able to net us a first, would we ever be able to replace his production per dollar and minutes? If we can re-sign him for below market value, especially with him being a UFA, why would we trade him? Won't make sense.

And if Goat is some sort of skilled GM like the apologists like to pretend, he will jump on this opportunity to extend him.

edit: I forgot to mention he is also relatively young... if there will be a cup run before he retires, Kost will play a major part in it as a veteran

LOL- its an opinion he actually doesnt have the power to offer an amount to T its- and Andrei Can move on if he doesnt like the offer that his right-doesnt mean he has to be given a raise not by Montreal
i know in my work if i dont produce as well as i have - i probably wont be given a raise and if i do its very minimal and also im not making millions

If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. He's so heartless that he already doesn't care about the next place he plays and it would take way less energy to just stay where he is. The same about accepting less money, it means less negotiation which equals less energy but he still gets paid so it evens out.

That's one of the most naive posts of this or any other day. Would the brothers each make millions independently of their parents if they returned to Belarus before their playing days ended? Think it over.

This is awesome. Great to hear from Andrei.

Definitely would keep him around. Move some of the older players.

I hope we sign him before the trade deadline. Or else trade him if the value is sufficiently present.

sign him

he will be sign Gauthier or not . When you have a 20 + goals scorer who is draft by the organization and you have him for less than the market. You sign him

Hamrlik was willing to take less money (See Washington) he just wanted the same term Washington gave him but DUMB DUMB wouldn't give it to him!

He would have stayed in Montreal for 3.5 and two years instead he went and payed 4.2 for two more years on Kaberle!
