His effort without the puck is embarassing. You can get away with it if you are putting up 90+ points a season but when you're a 60 point player you better start winning puck battles and playing better away from the puck

Yes, Eakin a while ago just passed it in front of the goal, 4 Canes players and 0 Caps. They just don't go to the net enough at ES.

You are irrelevant. Besides that one bad play, they have looked pretty good so far. Offense is looking better

Making 9.5 a year he should not need line mates to get him the puck none stop. He is becoming Sammy Sosa. He hits a homerun (goals) every now and then. But other than that he is useless a lot of the time. I just don’t understand how he can be ok with his own effort. Does he feel like he is trying?

Laich has been awful this whole year. Can't make a pass, can't do anything with the puck when he does, and just looks lethargic out there. Really disappointed in the way he's played the last 2 years. He was a great 2LW that would crash the net, and gave it his all every shift. Now, he still preaches team play, effort, etc. but he's a major culprid. He makes 4.6mil and does absolutely nothing. BTW I've been thinking this for awhile, not just a sudden thought...

First period vs. SJS. They've tied another period but that's it without Backstrom. They've been outshot in the other 20 periods since the Calgary game.
Part of the problem was double-shifting Ovechkin with Hendricks in the box. Not a good idea. Just soft all-around.
