hfboards popular perceptions that are wildly off

I'll start.

Perception: The Sedins dive. Truth: Daniel Sedin has never once dove in his career.

Perception: Marian Gaborik floats around waiting for the puck. Truth: Gaborik is a very good two-way player who will eagerly battle for pucks along the boards.

Go.

Go.
Perception: The Sedins dive. Truth: They do, but so does just about every player in the NHL when they believe it will lead to an advantage to their team. Some do it better than others. Some do it more often than others. Yet only some get called out for it.

Haha, yup. This thread won't go over well.

There is at least a hint of truth in everything. It is just the media, fans, hfboards that tend to blow everything up.

Any team that finishes in last place isn't there because of injuries, bad management, and/or bad coaching...it is because they tanked.

Perception: Luongo is worthless.
Truth: He isn't.

I watch a lot of Canuck games (I live in BC), and the Sedins did not have a diving rep prior to last playoffs. Then Henrik did a couple of hilariously bad dives last playoffs and the hfboards hivemind started to buzz.
