Coyotes Need A Center; Surplus Defensmen. Make Your Offers
Not a PHX fan but I really don't see any offers that I think are close to being good for PHX.
You're absolutely, 100% right.

Ok, I don't want be hard, but this is the worst trade proposal ever. I wouldn't even accept this if it was just for Yandle.

Gomez has stone mits, if whatever reason we would get him, we would give you a garbage pick because in the end we would be doing you a favor in freeing salary cap. He is obviously not working with the team's current roster and it's also clear that Montreal would love to let him go.
If I were to pick up a center, I wouldn't mind giving up the following defensemen only: Morris, Aucoin, and Rozsival. We have a dynasty group of defensemen that I would prefer getting ice time: OEL, Yandle, Rundblad, Schlemko, Summers (he has been looking good), and for the future, Gormley and Murphy.
I don't see any forward leaving our team at this time. We simply have too many defensemen. It blows that right when Hanzal comes back from injury, Langkow gets nailed in the face with the puck (I swear there is a puck magnet on his face). I don't think GMDM would be interested in young centers, it would be more established centers, but my God, not Scott Gomez.
I'm not sure if Carter is someone I can depend on. He is not that crazy overrated but the way his price tag seems to be, which to me seems why higher than it should, would be too much for Phoenix to give for.
I really like the Derek Roy idea, I think he can make things happen in Phoenix. I can see from his stats, he is having the slowest year he has ever had in Buffalo in the last 6 years. However, Buffalo is slumping as a team as well. Maybe its time for a change, Derek?
Horcoff could be a shot because his 5.5M cap hit and his talent have no comparison whatsoever. I'm sure we wouldn't have to give much to Edmonton for him.
Never going to happen. Interesting story from the 2009 draft, the Coyotes staff was almost apoplectic at the idea of ending with Schenn instead of Ekman-Larsson.
Edmonton's pick is in play if it is out of the top 3 or 4. Assuming the pick was a #4-7, who would you give up?
I would give up Gormley 1 for 1 for that draft pick if I were general manager for the Coyotes. Also, to be honest, I think this is a sweet trade, assuming that is was a #4 to #7 pick, but I do have to admit that it would be a better trade for the Coyotes. I can't predict the future, Gormley could be worth the trade, but if you look at the trade on this present day, it looks better for the 'Yotes. You guys drafted top forwards: Hall, RNH, and Eberle, so Gormley could be your shot for your future defensemen category.
Though, now I think about it, if you were to do this trade, why wouldn't you just keep the pick and draft a #4 to a #7 defensemen in the draft?
TO PHOENIX
- Tomas Plekanec
- Hal Gill
- 4th round draft pick
TO MONTREAL
- Keith Yandle
- 1st Round Draft Pick
you doubt Montreal moves him? hilarious.
Maloney would likely just hang up as soon as the words "Keith" were uttered.
Hal Gill is a UFA. Plekanec is a good option at C don't get me wrong but I wouldn't move Yandle for him straight up. Not a chance. The suggestion of Phoenix adding a 1st (which right now is a Top 10 pick) is outright lunacy.
Washington offers Mathieu Perreault, and BOS's 2012 2nd round draft pick for Derek Morris.
If I need to add, please tell me. I'm not quite aware of Morris' trade value, to be honest.
I'd imagine you could get Morris for the 2nd round pick by itself. Maybe less.
He's -14 on the season, despite his team having a goal differential of only -4. Has been a healthy scratch several times. No goals on the year after 44 games. Signed for another two years at an AAV $2.75m.
I realize he's played better lately, but I still think a 2nd on its own would be sufficient, no?
