This team is playing like Tebow, just without the results.
Seriously, keep Benn out until he's 100%. It doesn't matter anymore. Just blow off the rest of the year, acquire as many picks/prospects as you can, and make a great future out of it. I'm sick of this bubbling.
All the anger in the world isn't going to give this team talent.
Did you watch this first period? Talent had nothing to do with the crap they were showing. This team consistently plays down to its opponents and comes out flat after long breaks. They worked their ***** off in St Louis and against Detroit, playing up to their competition. They lacked talent in those games. Tonight they lacked effort or will.
Gulutzan:

"The only reason you prepare against Detroit, Boston, St. Louis is because you’ve got a little fear in your belly that you might get embarrassed. So you work and do the little things. It’s a sign of weakness if you can’t bring that little fear and that adrenaline in your game every night. You just think you’re too good."
Exactly. This team thinks they're hot **** and takes lesser teams too lightly. They get up for good teams and think they're hot **** and can waffle stomp bad teams. Parity is too high in this league for them to have this attitude. Its not a new problem either, It's been there for 3-4 years too. Something's gotta change in this locker-room.

Theres working hard and theres working smart. I think on any given day most teams work pretty damn hard, hell its what all coaches preach all the damn time. Most often getting outworked isnt a result of a lack of effort but a lack of intelligence or a lack of skill. It seems fans and coaches expect their team to be able to will themselves to victory but the simple fact is the other team expects the same thing and since they usually get it the team with the better players usually wins.
eh the team currently has 2 top 6 quality forwards in the lineup and no top pairing dman. Tampa sucks this year but theres clearly more talent in their lineup than there is in Dallas'
Souray is now in sole possesion lets keep pardy as our 7th and send souray to the mini stars
no way.. Pardy brings nothing. Before being brought in I heard he was a decent skater for a big guy, that hasn't been the case. He stumbles around out there, looks terrified when the puck gets on his stick, and is always more concerned about taking a hit.
Souray on the other hand has a booming shot(not always accurate), can play physical, has pretty good puck control for a big defenseman. Souray takes too many penalties and is pretty slow, but he's much better than Pardy.
were not a playoff team, so stop meandering around 9th or 10th!!.
eg. Edmonton will have 4 years in a row with no playoffs.
Dallas will have four years in a row with no playoffs.
Oilers play it smart, acquire Hall, RNH, MPS and some other future stars..(probably anothert top 5 pick this year)
Dallas play it dumb, tease their fans and dont play well enough to nake playoffs but consistantly pick around 12-14 (glennies draft the excpetion) and have to hope mid round prospects can step up and be stars...only problem is they look ordinary (except olekiask)..
Play it smart this year, just fall away, stop teasing your fans only to flop to 9th again..TANK and get pick 5 or 6 and get a real star to the organisation..

And just let attendance go below 10k? Yeah that's likely.
The attendance is going to drop regardless because the product on the ice isn't winning over fans. Yeah low ticket prices help but let's get serious, until the product on the ice improves fans aren't going to show up in droves. So if Gagliardi is going to lose money lose money while improving your team for the future.
If you sell at the deadline and bring in a couple of new cap vets plus one or two NHL ready prospects acquired via trade you can say hey, come see the future...finishing ninth or tenth again without making trades for the future may sink this organization far more than starting fresh with new blood.
