The idiocy of the trade Subban brigade embarrasses Montreal more than Gauthier does

By Mitch Melnick

All of this drama giving more ammunition to those who believe PK Subban is too self centered to develop into a top flight defenseman is ugly. The idiocy of the "let's trade PK (and Price) brigade embarrasses this market more than Pierre Gauthier does. What's Drew Doughty doing in LA? Ok, I'll tell you.

so the media does read HF.

Hey Mitch, all that whining about Martin sure worked out. I'd rather keep getting bench minors than having the defense run around like chickens with no heads.

What was embarassing was your blind hate for Jacques Martin. I didn't like him, but at least the team had some structure.

The media is what is most embarassing out of all this.

Well lets be honest how many of us where saying the same thing.
I'm still glad Jacques is gone, now I really don't mind leaving with the PK antics. Just when things go wrong here its all wrong.

I don't think anyone said to give him or Price away but everyone have his price.

I feel the same way about people who want to blame the season on Price and Plekanec.

Mitch has graciously allowed his blog posts to be also posted on OurHometown.ca. This was posted by OH and not Mr. Melnick

A lot of us don't feel the way you do about it!!!
Too many softies and a whole lot of stupid 2 min minors, can be traded.
And to top that off, guess what, both want their wooping increase in
pay before then prove a thing in the NHL
period

A win over trona tonight and we'll all be happy !!!!!!! hahaha

The media are more embarrassing than the team? I don't think so.

Quickest way to silence the media is to win.

Yup it is. But is the media willing to be patient in regards to the few bumps the team will have to experience in order to get to winning?

I doubt the habs will be a contender over night. It will probably take a few years, even with a new GM. The question is, how long a leash will the media give the new GM? If the team still struggles next year, will the media start causing a stir because the team isn't winning?

You are 100% right, the media will shut-up when they win, but that won't be for a while. So this embarassment is here to stay for the time being. I hope the fans will be patient enough to give the new GM(if there is one) and the new coach more than a year to do there thing. They have shown in the past that this is difficult since they got on Martin's case in his first season. Hell some are even giving up on Subban despite him not having 2 full seasons of hockey under his belt.

Patience from everyone is important.

WTF is Melnick whining about now? The "trade Subban brigade"? It's a brigade?

The general concensus is that PK is not playing well, is repeating the same mistakes, is difficult to coach, may not be the most popular player in the room but he's a keeper and will be a star. There is no trade PK brigade but rather get him to calm the fack down. Personally, after what PK did yesterday on the bench, I'd sit him for at least 3 games and possibly even send him to the minors. Something needs to be done today to make him a better player and teammate tomorrow.

I'm sick of Subban. There are so many things about his game that just bug me. I hate how he punches everyone in the corner in battles (see his roughing penalty last night.) He grabs sticks like crazy, it's a surprise he isn't more penalized. The slewfooting is so dirty it's stupid. He did it on one of pittsburghs goals last night, he takes out the guy in front on the second goal I believe. And then there's the diving/cowering from fights. If you're gonna play the way you do, be ready to pay the price. Don't dive or hide behind your teammates, because I bet the guys are sick of standing up for this *******. Also, why must you wind up so much for a slap shot when it's not gonna hit the net anyways? An 80 mph shot on net is better than a 100mph wide shot 100 times out of 100.

Andy, aside from one year this team has been middle of the pack in the conference for many years.

Any patience is running thin.

Because what you wrote was nonsense.

PG has been part of this management team for a while. He was a key factor in the Gomez acquisition.

The team is regressing - therefore people are calling for his head.

I'm not willing to give this regime another 5 years.

A new, fresh direction is needed.

Again you addressed not one point I said. I never spoke of PG, this management, past moves and 5 year plans. Don't reply if you are going to gloss over what I said.

Ok, I won't reply.

You're happy with the team and want the status quo. I don't.

We can leave at that.

Amen. Usually I like Melnick but he was completely wrong on JM.

And it's only a matter of time until the axe-wielding know-it-all fans and media run PK and Price out of town too. Unfortunately.

Sounds like a case similar to Del Zotto.

My advice is let this season finish and wait until next season to gauge P.K's game.

Why are you responding someone who pops in to say the same thing every time only after losses?
