The good thing is we have the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday (going to that game btw) in 3 days should be fine w/o McD and then a week break until we play the Devils.

Hoping for the best.

Yeah, let's hope it looked worse than it is. This is where our defensive depth is key. Sauer is nearly ready to go and we have the all star break coming up, which will help if McDonagh misses time.

Looked really bad but he ended up getting to his feet, seemed winded really.

I'm thinking wind knocked out. But he did grab his lower region as he fell.

Looked horrible - I hope they took him to get his head checked out in the hospital and hope he's ok. Looked really woozy though.

Btw Ference should be suspended for the year - that wasn't only a hit from behind, that was also boarding by a mile.

Yeah. That had concussion written all over it. Jeesum Christmas.

I've got an idea for how to stop these hits - you put a guy out with a concussion, it's no longer a judgment call by Shanny. Instead, you sit for as long as he has to sit. Injured guy still collects a paycheck; you don't.

It didn't really look like he made much contact with his head on the boards on the replay, should be ok.

I'm more concerned about his collarbone/arm than a concussion. The obvious pain he was in didn't seem like a concussion to me.

It looked more like a leg injury to me. Hopefully he's fine, just a sprain or twist.

I dunno, man, looked like MAJOR whiplash. And he was definitely holding his head a couple of times as he gathered himself.

I am expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

I am hoping it's not a separated shoulder, looked like he had the wind knocked out of him. Especially how he had trouble standing up after being down on the ice, luckily his head did not hit the ice. Hopefully he will be okay he has been great this season and was huge today, possibly our best d-man.

Agreed with this ...it's ridiculous that the guy with a concussion misses months or years and the guy causing it misses 5 games or less. How is that even close to reasonable?! The NHL needs to crack down hard - 5 games out of 82 is a slap on the wrist.

Makes me sick. Nails him right in the numbers 3 feet from the boards.

It was his shoulder going hard into the boards. It wasn't his head from what I saw.

Im going to say a separated shoulder or some sort of collar bone injury. Really hoping it's nothing severe. He was awesome today and would be a terrible loss.

If Shanahan doesn't make an example on this one, he's as much of a joke puppet as I suspected.

it looked a lot to me like the del zotta crunch from 24/7 where he couldn't breather for a little bit...did not look like a head but you never know with the speed they were going...

They didn't show the replay too many times but it looks like he didn't hit his head, which is good. His reaction however made it seem like a concussion. Time to pray... You never fully realize how valuable a player is until they may be or are gone.
