this...

i'm thrilled the rangers battled and stood with the champs. they showed a ton and i'm really proud. but losing mcd is a killer. i hope he's ok. not good.

did you all think it was a malicious play by ference? to be honest, i thought mcd was expecting the hit and it just went badly. ference had a head of steam but i didn't think it was much more than bad luck. i do appreciate that im in the minority here...to say the least.

When tortorella took over the team he said the head coach should be handling the powerplay because he should know his best players lol...so my guess is torts handles it

Was anyone else about to flip a **** after Rask made those 2 saves before Gabby potted it?

1. Lundy
2. Gabby
3. McD

Great game of hockey to watch, very exciting.

The good: every ranger skater did something useful on the ice. Yeah they sometimes made bad decisions etc, but overall everyone contributed to the win which was great to see. For most of of the game they did a good job keeping the Bruins to the outside and not allowing them to get speed up entering the zone. PK was just fantastic

The bad: The PP (OT goal aside) was woeful, the injury to McD. The reffing was bad all over.

The Redden: Andrew f***ing Ference. WTF was that crap?

really enjoyed the game, especially as the good guys got 2 points. I thought Richards was much more engaged in this game, hopefully that OT can get him going again.

Really hope that the news on McD isn't too bad

Gabby: How can you not?

yeah, having four forwards on 4-on-3 was stupid.. they need to spend some significant time on that in ASG break

I understand where you're coming from, but that was a clear, hard hit from behind. Ferrence could've pulled up and not drilled him in the numbers, but he didn't. And that's what makes the Bruins who they are. I'd like to see someone answer with an elbow to Ferrence's face the next time they play.

I think you have to answer back at some point...

1. Gaborik. Wheres MSG is the place to be today? He showed a lot of poise, and was, IMO, our best forward the whole game. He showed up when we needed him, and in a big way.

2. Hank: Made the saves that he had to. Once again, one of our stars showed up in a big game.

3. McDonagh: This kid is going to be the anchor of our blue line for the next decade. I know we have Staal and DZ, but McDonagh is the complete package. He rounds out that offensive game more, and he'll be that go to player on the blue line. Still can't believe we got him for Gomez. Hope he's not out for an extended period of time. This guy has really stepped up.

HM:

Callahan: He's a guy I've been frustrated with, and he showed up. Blocking shots, scored a goal and was in on the game winner. He showed why he's the captain today.

Unfortunately it is Sullivan. Torts handled the PP in Tampa, but I am pretty sure Sully does here, if you want to call it that. One of the reasons I don't like Torts is his reluctance to hire someone to hire a PP coach (Zubov, Leetch, heck even McCabe) but no they just keep dumping and never go to the net.

McD was definitely a beast on defense, hope he is okay.

1st star - McD
2nd - Gabby
3rd - Hank

Redden - Officials and our PP

I thought the Bruins were going to pound us 6-0?

What scares me the most about the Bruins is not their offensive depth or defense, but their propensity to play cheap. Fortunately it cost them the game (and this is not the first time something like this happened this year - the Bruins lost to the Canucks because they were being dirty and undisciplined). Hopefully McDonagh is ok.

Hagelin and Gabby were probably our best forwards. Prust looks a lot better lately as well. Lundqvist bailed us out on many occasions yet again.

That being said, this team has a lot to work on. Faceoffs, the power play, the odd man rushes, etc. But the fact that they were able to pull one out despite these shortcomings is an encouraging sign.

Boston is nothing. Overrated bunch of dumb oafs.

The BETTER team won. Despite the Bruins having the game handed to them on a platter.

After the first save, I was like "****!", then I saw hope as Richards got to the rebound and then I was like "****KKKKK! WTF!!!!!" and then I saw Gaborik come in for the rebound and I was like "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" and fist pumped towards the sky like a boss. If that went into a shootout after what happened, I would've walked outside with no pants on and sat down in the snow as punishment.

Callahan leaves his hearth on ice every gsmr. I can't believe you say that.

I think Supersonic's opinion is pretty reasonable given the nature of the hit and McD's reaction. Obviously no one knows for sure, but come on, odds are very good that it's a serious issue.

Nice to see Gaborik come through against a tough team like the Bruins.

Hope McD is okay.

My reaction was similar except when Richards got it I was like "oh no he's touching it"

Sometimes I seriously think Chara shoots AT other players.

i have no voice but it's worth it. i love that the three slumping Rangers were the biggest part of the win and all had something to do with the OT goal.
