Yup. They were 2 beauties. Thankfully the 3rd was the charm.

I think you have to answer back at some point...
i hear you too. i'll defer to the league and people with more experience and understanding. i was just giving my layman's view.
that said, the rangers didn't really go after ference as much as they could have. i thought they kind of accepted it as a hockey play that went wrong. i also take that into consideration.

anyhow, i'm not trying to defend ference or the bruins. just my thoughts and i will wait to see what comes of this. i'm curious to hear mcdonagh's take.

The more I see the replay, the more it becomes clear just how dirty that hit on McD was. Ferrence had plenty of time to pull of but he didn't.

And Shanahan is a ***** in his new role and will probably give Ferrence maybe 2 games.

We got really great contributions up and down the lineup. Gabby, Hank, Cally are my call outs. But a pretty good to great game from most everyone.

As great as it felt to get the 2 points, I can’t be THAT over the moon about this game. Puck possession was sorely lacking IMO. Our PP is a serious, glaring issue. And if McD is out for a while it would really put us in jeopardy.

Someone needs to incapacitate Ference next game. Anyone who has ever played organized hockey knows that a numbers hit like that is perhaps the biggest “no-no” out there.

Gabby, Hagelin and Hank are my stars. Hagelin is just awesome, if he could improve his shot a bit he'd be lethal!

Oh BTW, anybody seen Sheer Con lately? I'd like to revisit that debate

Couple things...

1. Much needed point for Richards and goal for the power play.

2. 33:31 for Girardi today, one of the busier nights of the season for any player.

3. Only 4:27 for Bickel the entire game. Looking more and more like he is the odd man out upon Sauer's return.

4. Still don't like MDZ on the right side of the ice. Not only does it affect our possession but our forwards are afraid to dish the puck to the point.

5. Gaborik continues to score big goals for us.

After reading through the Bruins GDT, I've come to the conclusion that Boston fans don't know as much about hockey as I thought.

Most of the posters over there are comical front-runners. I guess with listening to Jack Edwards, it rubs off.

When you watch in slow motion, it doesn't look that bad. When you watch it at normal speed, it looks terrible and you can hear how loud it was. Terrible, just terrible. Hopefully he's okay. 5+ for Ference.

Likewise. So glad we won and played the way we did. There could've been improvements, but hey, first place, beat the Bruins, scored on a PP, I'm happy. I hope McD is alright.

Agree with the first part. Completely disagree with the second part.

and their restraint wound up winning the game for them.
there are three more games to catch with ference.

I live near Boston. Its exactly the way you would envision it, Boston fans really don't know **** about hockey, or any other sport for that matter.

You mean you disagree about Shanahan's performance?

lol i watched a bruins v. stars with a bruins fan on new years eve and he acted like he knew everything about hockey, a stars player tapped thomas on the back with his stick as he was going for the puck and puck went in and the fan was like omg how was that not goalie interference and was astonished that there was no call and goal counted and then a little bit later a penalty was called on the stars and the fan goes thats a make up call for the non call on the goalie interference...

my wife told me later that she felt she knew more about hockey than him lol

I hope Shanahan goes to town on him. McD didn't hit his head though, correct? It looked like it was mainly shoulder.

Went to college near Boston and I can verify this. Saw very little Bruins gear even up into the start of the playoffs last season. Mass is very overrated as a hockey area. Are there people who like hockey? Yeah. It isn't even close to the hockey Mecca some people talk it up as.

The only evidence of this you really need is the moronic crowd at the game today, who cheered every save by Rask like he was stopping overtime penalty shots in game 7 of the Cup final. They also booed the refs every single time a Bruins player landed on the ice.

i would really hope that the game situation didnt keep the rangers from dishing out justice. you may be right that it did. but if the rangers really felt ference stepped over the line (and i'm not saying he didn't, just that i'm not sure) i'd hope they just do the right thing and slaughter the guy. bedamned the game situation.
