Its undoubtedly because he doesn't know yet.

I think what he's saying is if McDonagh was OK, Torts would know already.

Def

I doubt will need him against the Jets.

Well they have to x-ray him to see if he has a separated should or broken collarbone in all likelihood.

And the fact the game has been over for about a half an hour and Torts had nothing to say worries me. I am sure the X-rays are done, they are probably doing a concussion evaluation, which is scarier.

His head didn't even touch the boards. It's not a head injury. If anything it will be a shoulder or arm injury.

It doesn't have to be a hit on the head directly to be a concussion.

Your head doesn't have to hit anything to be concussed.

From what I saw, it did not look like his head hit the boards. I'm not saying that a head injury is out of the question, but by looking at the replay, it seems unlikely.

That was a really careless play be Ference, there really is no room for a hit like that in the game. McDonagh played phenomenal today, and that hit kind of made the win a little less sweet.

Hopefully he can heal up and come back after the All-Star break; losing him would be a massive blow to this defense.

His head didn't hit the boards, nor was it contacted in the hit. There was no whiplash motion in his head either. You don't have to get hit in the head to get a concussion, you're right, but I'd bet money its not a head injury.

He didn't look like he was favoring his shoulder when he skated off the ice. Hopefully he was just winded.

I think it'll be like MDZ's hit against the Leafs.

Looked really, really scary and was sort of helped off the ice , but a few days of rest might be the best cure.

Let's hope so. Not the worst time for this to happen, with the All Star game right around the corner.

His head never hit the boards (:45 seconds). His left shoulder protected his head from hitting the boards. He wasn't favoring his shoulder or his knee when he was skating off. When McDonagh was on ice,it looked like a left shoulder injury but he didn't favor his shoulder skating off the ice.

Very hard to tell what it was. But it didnt look like his head. But then again he did grab his head once or twice on the ice. It could be so many things its pointless to speculate.

Dirty ****ing hit though. He better not get a slap on the wrist 1-2 game suspension.

If a guy gets a concussion, they typically don't travel. So I THINK that's a sign it's not that.

You don't have to hit your head to suffer an injury to the brain. It's called coup contrecoup. A sudden stop can cause your brain to impact your skull. Common in severe whiplash.

Bruins fan just popping in to say I hope McDonough is okay

That was not a smart hit by Ference. He's usually not a dirty player and I doubt he was trying to to hurt him. Still though, it was reckless

I have to say as well, that Ranger team is damn good! I'm really starting to like that team and I appreciate that most of you Ranger fans aren't overreacting to the hit. Pretty funny that most of the people that are are Canuck and Habs fans.

Again hope he's alright. Shame that had to marr what was otherwise a pretty awesome game today. We got at least 3 more to go this year. Looking forward to them
