How about

(McNeil or Danault), Morin, a 1st and a dump like Olesz or Frolik

for

Plekanec and a 3rd

Alright since most Hawks and Habs fans are in agreement here (rarity a posted trade gets approved like this, so once again nice job OP) lets send out the fine paper work to Pierre Gauthier and Stan Bowman.

Pretty sure most Habs fans would rather do the OP (Plekanec alone for Morin+1st+2nd). Not to mention McNeill > Danault and Frolik > Olesz.

yeah I would be open to a lot of different combos of this trade because the Hawks have a very nice group of prospects, specifically forwards. Also the thought of Plekanec between Sharp and Hossa is unreal...especially that being our 2nd line.

Good job on the proposal coldsteel

FYI - I'm probably in the minority, but I'd rather give up McNeill than Danault if it was down to the 2

Players with French names who aren't from Quebec. Makes you wonder why they sacked Jacques Martin..

Yea on second thought, maybe they will demand Danault instead. (though a damn good prospect in his own right)

If pleks goes to chicago the NHL might as well just give the hawks the cup.

this has to be one of the worst proposals ive seen. the only habs fans who would approve are the tankers. ie they arent habs fans. a true fan wants to see their team do well every year not give up in hopes of replicating the bottom feeding dynasties like the pens. the only way this trade benefits montreal is if we want to lose more games. that said the return on this is pretty horrible. a second tier prospect with skating issues and only one first round pick. two picks and its closer to fair while still being really bad for montrel. but for two first rounders, at least chicago wont be laughing about how badly they fleeced montreal. how is rensfeldt by the wy? i was hoping mtl would have drafted him

that would be too nice, wouldn't be required as you guys don't really want or have to sell Plekanec.

I think a deal centered around a 1st and 2nd 2012 pick, a pretty high prospect like Morin/Pirri/McNeill/Saad should be enough. If we have to throw in a filler like Bickell I'd be cool with that as well. Not really liking throwing Frolik in with the picks and prospect though...but would be open to it.
Would take him in order to get extra pick/prospect out of the deal because Montreal is a team more able to absorb the loss of having a player like that in the AHL.

Having Toews, Plekanec, and hopefully McNeill down the middle centering the likes of possibly Saad, Sharp, Hossa, and Kane for many years would be ridiculous.

Looks good. But, I'd think a little bit before moving Morin. Morin's a decent player who scores at least around 20 goals a season.

I would move Morin for Plekanec with little to no hesitation.

I don't think the Habs are in a position to move Plekanec. He's such a key player for the team, trading him for prospects would really signify a full-scale rebuild in process, and I just can't imagine the Habs going that direction. Even if things continue along the current path and the team gets a lottery pick this year, I expect they'll be looking to make a quick turnaround from there, and not looking to blow things up any further. (Whether the quick turnaround actually materializes successfully or not, it will still be the desired direction attempted). Plekanec for any bundle of prospects deemed sane by any team just wouldn't fly. The offer fits the "sane" category fine, but just doesn't align with the Habs' direction. Probably. Hopefully.

Frolik Kruger 1st round 2012 1st round 2013 we can take a cap dump too.

For plekanec 2nd in 2013 (mtl) and Gill

that's the deal i'd make. I'm not high on Morin i would do Saad instead of Kruger also.

I would take Gill if it was like an option D. I would want to just do a deal straight up for Plekanec.

Morin, Froik and/or Bickell, 2012 1st, 2012 3rd for Plekanec

Habs need to have another deal in place for a center before making this trade. Unless they plan on tanking and use 5 million sign Ruutu to replace TP. Or something similar
