You guys are hilarious. The guy has over 175 more points than Geno. Scoring titles, MVP's, 65 goal season....... It's Ovie hands down.......

Malkin is just having a better year this season

Career wise to this point Ovechkin has been much better than Malkin. Let's not all lose our minds around here.
Ovechkin has been in a slump for 2 years now, with no discernable injury or excuse. He's simply declined. Malkin's down years were due to injury. So far in their careers i would give the nod to Ovechkin, but considering their ages if i could go back to their draft years i would take Malkin. Going forward Malkin is the best player in the world.

he's also played 129 more games. And at malkin's current clip of 1.38 PPG. Thats 177 points...

Obviously ovi has had a more potent career but don't act like its a runaway.

i agree. OV has the edge on scoring.

But really, how long can we wait for him to bounce back? There seems to be no reason why he is not what he is supposed to be.

I still have faith for Ovechkin to bounce back. but my faith is running thin...

Malkin seems to be getting better while Ovechkin seems to be getting worse. So yeah it's Malkin.

Well, that is actually a comparison that holds no water. you have no idea if Malkin will suddenly do "OVžes".

he might stopr producing for no reason, or due to an injury.

Or, this is the only upside i can find in OV slumping for no reason. Ovechkin might bounce back for no reason. You cant know if tomorrow he starts to burn the league like he did for 4 years. i have my fingers crossed...

As a Pens' fan, I think that the Ovechki is done talk is ridiculous. I know it is not the only reason, but picture Ovechkin in this bikini next summer and it could be a good start of a turnaround.

Oh and sorry for the image of Ovechkin on that bikini that will be in your head for the next few days.

Malkin until Ovie returns.. as someone pointed out, Malkin is on the rise while Ovechkin is starting to fade a little bit.

Having one bad season is understandable but it's a bit more than that, he's not even PPG this season. For a guy with his talent, he should be PPG at the very least even if he plays good for like 5 minutes every game.

ok well Ovechkin might crash his car and lose a finger and be forced to play one handed until he is forced to retire because no one can play with one hand.

PPG is an example of a a statistic that can be used to predict future performance. No its not perfect, yes things change. But its all we have.

Have always preferred Malkin, players like him only come around so often whereas explosive scorers like OV are a lot more common of a style. Not to mention he's got a cup and a Conn Smythe.

Already had this debate this year but once again I take the guy with the cup and the conne Smythe. When you had a presidents trophy team multiple times and haven't got out of the second round you've got a problem. Ovi is falling into obscurity at a rapid rate.

Its been 1.5 seasons for Ovie where he hasnt been his usual self. Malkin just had two sub-par injury plagued seasons himself and you guys are all over his nuts. Of course Ovie will bounce back......

The difference is that despite playing though injury and playing on a line with Fedotenko and Talbot, Malkin still produced at a 94 point pace in '09-'10 - the same pace Stamkos produced at, fully healthy, with Marty St.Louis attached at the hip.

If that's a "sub-par" season, it's only because the standard Malkin set was "Art Ross winner/runner-up".

Malkin only had one real down period, and that was for half a season last year.

More importantly Malkin has a Conn Smyth trophy.

OV hasn't even come close

That maybe you should start a new poll rather than bump an out-of-date one?
