You're going to have to make an executive decision here, sir.

I know it's hard... but, that is the nature of the beast.

Play GM, and make your choice.

If Cammalleri would have played even half as good as he does in the playoffs, he would have been a god here in Montreal. Although with the way he's been playing and has continued to play, I'll take Bourque at half the price.

This year i'd rather Bourque over Cammy. Wanted him traded since November but give me playoff Cammy any day

This is obvious.

Like I said.. you need to put your money where your mouth is and make an executive final decision on who you take right now until their contract expires.

borker

3.3 is nothing on the cap these days AND, it's easier to trade 3.3 than 6 million dollars on the cap.

At this point, based on Cammalleri's play this season for the Habs, and Rene Bourque's very short time with the Habs, I say it's a toss up. Considering we got a prospect and a 2nd round pick out of it, it feels like a good trade.

But that's a very, very short sighted analysis. We haven't seen enough of Bourque.

It's nice to have a pure sniper on the team. Even if Cams wasn't effective of late, when he's in the zone, he's a plus on any team.

It's ok to overpay guys if they at least play hard, Cammalleri should be a 4.5 mill guy.

He plays like a 6 mill guy 20% of the time and a 3.0 mill guy 80% of time.

I take Bourque not because he's better, but because of him we get rid of Cammalleri being one of our "best" players, and hopefully we can replace him with someone who remotely resembles a 6.0 mill cap hit.

Was never that big of a Cammalleri fan, at least not at a 6 mil cap hit.

Very nice points.

Personally I take Bourque going forward, quite easily.

He is exactly the type of player we need, and we need more of these types.

I don't know why I thought of this but.. imagine if the Bruins traded for Bourque.. I'm sure we would be kicking ourselves. Bourque would fit in quite well over there I think.

How can anyone say Cammy here? Let's be serious...almost 3mil less for just about the same point production, Bourque hits more, he's bigger, he doesn't look like a rubber ducky when he's on the ice, and there's no way he could be as cancerous as Cammalleri. Bourque is a perfect fit here. We won this trade hands down.

I voted Bourque cuz I think the past lovefest I had for Cammy was living in that playoff past and a few games where he had great performances, but after he left, I immediately detached myself from him as I'd grown very tired of his, well...everyone knows what he's been this season. That said, I'm still hoping for more from Bourque. He's been good, but I think capable of more. Definitely been good along the boards, puck possession, still not so much in the cutting to the net and getting a good scoring opportunity a la Cole. Of course he banged that one in tonight which was huge, but like I said, looking forward to more from him. Hopefully he, like Cammy at one point, realizes what it means to wear the jersey.

At the time of my post it was 85% in favor of Bourque. I'm surprised it wasn't higher. Do we want a man or a moth?

That's a conundrum. To excel in the playoffs you have to qualify for them. Cammalleri wasn't carrying his weight when the Habs desperately needed hm to get into the postseason. In a way it reminds me of the O. Henry short story, The Gift of the Magi.

Does anyone remember that play I believe was in San Jose with Cammellari in the sharks corner where he completely avoided the puck/check? Such a soft play, and I think that's when I lost the love.

I wish TankEller never got banned just to see his responses to the Cammalleri trade.

This. Hate the playoff clutch argument. If a guy can play so well when every other player is giving it their all, there is no excuse for him to not do it in the regular season. So glad he's gone.
