Boston - Florida

If Florida is out of it come deadline day:

Kris Verteeg

for

1st Rounder in 2012
2nd Rounder in 2013
Low-level Prospect
Salary Dump

To give Boston some scoring depth. Also, Versteeg is RFA at seasons end.

The Bruins are the highest scoring offense in the NHL. I know they'd like to add depth, but I don't think they see it as such a dire need that they'd be willing to pay through the nose for it.

I think they'll look for a Mark Recchi type, some aged, veteran winger they can get without giving up a ton.

Nope.

Tallon has no reason to trade off Versteeg, even if we were out of the playoff race in a month and a half. He still is young and a RFA.

He is/will be part of our Top6 for a while.

First. I honestly don't see Florida falling out of this one.... They're competing with an injured team...

And while I would love Versteeg on the bruins, he's not coming here. He is a piece of Florida's future.

Also there's no player I can point to on the Bruins roster that is honestly a salary dump, unless you go 1st line which won't happen.

I know Boston has great offense, but a little depth can go a long way.

As for an aged winger, did yo u have someone in mind? Steve Sullivan ?

1. No 2. Kris Versteeg has got to be one of the most over rated players in the league and that is a huge over payment. 3. the Bruins are fine on offense they need depth on D. 4. if florida were to get anything from boston for versteeg it would be caron and a 3rd for versteeg, and thats if florida is lucky.

this deal would absolutely never happen

Caron and a 3rd? You gotta be drunk or...

Tallon is not gonna trade Steeger, we got enough prospect depth and top en talent. Trading Steeger for two 1st (25-30) and lower prospect and a salary dump would be retarded. Hell no from Florida.

Yep. Jason Blake, Brian Rolston, Vinny Prospal, Mike Knuble, maybe a Ryan Smyth on the high end, if they could get him cheap.

I think that if the B's investsignificant assets in anyone it should be for a defenseman like Visnovsky.
