Hoping Petersson can preform like a top 6 forward. Would be great to get a top 6 forward internally and not have to give up assets at the deadline.

Well BM is a Sens homer, so he is guilty of wishful thinking. I am a huge Petersson fan so I won't be mad if that's what happens

After Alfie :

Petersson-Spezza-Zibanejad
Silfverberg-Turris-Michalek
Foligno-Smith-Stone
Greening-Grant-Condra

Contenders : Da Costa, Regin, Pageau, Noesen, Prince, Puempel, Hoffman,...

The PK took a huge hit last night with K-Daug and Smith out. Alfie's gonna have to kill more penalties along with Konopka, Spezza and Condra. Might have to get Greening or Turris in there too.

On the positive side, we have an exceptionally skilled roster with these call ups. We gon score sum goalzzz.

Don't hold your breathe. He's not that good. Forwards with 4 goals in 38 games at the AHL level don't usually get callups.

You should try watching one of the Bingo games. You can't evaluate a player solely based off of stats.

Who thinks at some point if Da Costa was centering Greening and Condra it could be a sick line?

Talking in the future.. maybe a couple of years. If we have Spezza and Turris, D Costa is not going to crack top 2 lines, and he should be a centre. He is not a grinder but he is not afraid to make smart plays on offence or defence. He doesn't fit as a typical 3rd line centre... but with the speed and skill and hockey sense of Greening and Condra, the line could score and check. Could be a fast and useful 3rd line and D Costa could bring out the best offensively from both those wingers.

I can't see him centering Foligno, because Foligno doesn't need a smart centre, he creates the offence himself off pressure and transition. Da Costa can't play with other lesser physical guys or pure goal scorers if they don't have great 2 way games. Like say Butler or Filatov or Petersson might not be great wingers for him.

Just a thought

De Costa could also be dangled for trade bait, if he puts up points and plays well n the West coast he could become a nice part of a package for a deadline acquisition.

Sens in 2014/15?

This is an optimstic but not unrealistic forward group that has no 4th line really, probably would be possible with the Cap as so many young guys. You could roll 4 lines and you would never have a weak line. Talent is spread out in a sweet way. And there would be so many great forwards waiting in Bingo to rotate in... Puempel, Stone, Hoffman and on and on. This is the Detroit style model of development.

Michalek-Spezza-Petersson
Silvfenberg-Turris-Zibanejad
Greening-Da Costa-Condra
Foligno-Smith-Regin

I think he is too good to trade now. He might have not looked amazing at the start of the year.. he simply was not ready. However I see a lot of Turris in Da Costa. A lot of talent and hockey sense you just don't see in many players. In the right position to develop he could contribute huge in the future, maybe if in time after he makes the NHL and he doesn't fit in he is traded for a significant piece we need.

His value now likely is not very much. I'd further trade the 2013 first then Da Costa. (plus it would have more value). That is how much potential I think he has.

I was at every training camp day that was held at the Sensplex. I've seen him play. He has tools, but there are other guys in line for a callup before him.

What players did you have in mind? IMO Da Costa, Hoffman, Petersson and possibly Klinkhammer are the only players ahead of him at this point. That of course will change when Stone, silfverberg and Zibanejad join the sens. I just see Dziurzynski filling the role as a bottom sixer better than the other 4 in the AHL.

That is a very soft lineup. Also Regin is done and won't be back, especially back in the 2014/2015 season. Stone should have a spot in the top six by them, while Noeson, Dziurzynski and Kramer will likely have spots in the bottom six.

HAHAHA What a Tease! That's a bad call by management. That's like your boss saying "Hey, your doing a great job, why don't you work as acting manager for this week while jims away. Oh wait nevermind jims staying, see you later"

The thing is, Da Costa was probably briefed that "Jim" could possibly be staying and that he signed a contract that stipulates that if he's healthy he has to get on that first class flight to LA when they tell him to.

There's nothing weird about this, we may have needed a body and didn't have time to know for sure.

I'm sure Da Costa is absolutely livid that he's the first call up....
