Would love to have him on the Isles. Think he could be a good fit with PAP (pass first winger) on the second line.

they need defenceman first, can't believe they gave Kris Russell away.

People are saying Sean Couturier as if Columbus drafted him....the bloody #8 pick went over to Philly who got EXTREMELY lucky that Sean fell that low.

Pretty much. I really wondered how seriously Howson had talked Richards instead of Carter. Would have been an immensely better fit. Maybe it wasn't on the table, but Carter never really made sense to me. Best case scenario there would be getting a playmaking winger for Carter and leaving Nash on a seperate line for 2 good scoring lines.

I think Columbus would be well served flipping Carter for some serious assets on defence.

Really? Johnson doesn't exactly seem like the type of defensemen that Columbus needs as I would think they need someone who can actually play defence.

actually the top 10 picks in that draft are all looking good, don't forget Hamilton and Brodin both who have looked stellar would have been available.

any one of those prospects could have helped CBJ down the road with out gutting the team.

even if Coturier went higher someone else would have fallen that was a good pick.

Carter is a unique player, and so far he has not had a healthy enough season to prove what he can do.

Carter is talented enough to carry a line on his own. If i were a coach i would have him be my third line center , pair him with two defensively responsible wingers who can create traffic, and just let him shoot 350 times a year.

As talented as he is he is not the type of player to make others better because he is such a good shooter. So let him carry a line on his own.

I think a team like Detroit should go after him rather than a guy like Parise.

That trade has worked well for both sides.

Nikitin is playing great for the Blue Jackets and Russell has been outstanding for the Blues.

I'd love the Blues to make a run at Carter, and they could easily take on the contract (if the Stillman purchase goes through).

I don't think i'd offer much more than Ian Cole, Ben Bishop (if Columbus trades for him and plays him, then they will get his RFA rights, instead of having to compete for him in the open market in the offseason), and a 1st

Voracek and Couturier is a lot different than Voracek and Strome.

how about Couturier? and Voracek is still very young, I wouldn't be surprised.

And really Columbus your not gonna fire Howson :

Made no sense at time the whole "C for Nash" given there styles of play dont mesh
Right after Howson literally admitted to the hockey world that Nikita Filatov was a mistake by sending him (former top 10 pick) to Ottawa for a 3rd rounder.

Sorry Howson, Y U TRADE 4 CARTER?
