I still think some of you are being overly dramatic.

I don't want to be here today

  • They have a 6-game and two 4-game trips left.
  • They have one line giving them any offense right now.
  • Kings give up more goals on the road per game than at home (not good for a defense first team)
If the Kings have 101 points at the end of this season with the team they have now, I for one will be stunned.
No, I don't "think" the team will get 45 points in 33 games. I was just taking a statistical extrapolation. The blue-sky crowd has been hammering the pessimists and realists for complaining "when the team's pace under Sutter has been so amazing", so I took the team's record under Sutter and projected it forward, to show that even on the current Sutter pace, the team still ends up mired in 7th place. There's a 12-point range between projected 6th (Nashville, 103 points) and projected 8th (Minnesota, 91 points). I'm pointing out that even the current "I'll take points in 14 of sixteen games any day" pace isn't enough to get the Kings out of that range. In order to get a better seed, the team is going to have to start BEING an Elite team, instead of just making occasional pretenses at it. That was my point.

I hate every move Lombardi has made in the past 2 years. Sturm, Penner, Richards, Smyth....all crap.
Absolutely ridiculous. Schenn has done NOTHING as of yet. If you only see Richards as a point guy, you don't understand hockey. Simmonds has better linemates and is on a team that thinks of offense way more than defence. LA has no offense outside of Kopi and Richards right now. Brown and a couple of others chip in a bit but it's not like in Philly where they have a ton more goals. They also give up a ton more which is where they're missing Richards and Carter.

Reporter: What lead to the slashing penalty?
Quick: Did you not watch the game?
Reporter: I didn't see that part.
Quick: Did you not see what happened right before?
Reporter: No. I didn't.
Quick: You didn't? But you saw that?

Poor Quick.

Man, this thread is full of drama queens. If some of you hate this team so much, stop watching them.

The Kings are going to be a low scoring team for the rest of the season. You might as well get used to that by now. That's how they are coached and that's how they'll continue to play. We'll have to wait for the offseason to see if the offense is completely restructured. Remember that Sutter was stuck with Murray's staff and Dean may be out the door if the Kings miss or get bounced early in the playoffs. Until then, just chill out. If I didn't see the game, I would have thought the Kings lost by ten goals based on some of the reactions here.

I hope Sutter lets Quick just go off on the team one day in the locker room, he deserves to be able to.

I think:

A) Quick isn't that type of person, he's focused on himself (as he should be)

B) That would NOT be a good idea

C) It is not necessary

It wouldn't even cross my mind to blame Quick for the loss, but it wasn't like he showed Vezina trophy performance against Colorado. So after THIS game I really don't see why would he start blaming the rest of the team for the loss. When he keeps the opponents below 2 goals then yeah, I agree.

Right? getting pretty nauseating to come around here when the team loses. People want to blow the whole team up when in reality we are a few wingers shy of being a stanley cup contender.

This team's issues run deeper than what a couple wingers can fix.

.....okay.

If we had two decent top 6 wings, which we expected to have in Gagne and Penner, this team would be a beast.

I am totally okay with our bottom 6 as it is right now, maybe a guy like Moen would help...but they log significant puck possession time and put opposing teams on their heels.

If we had more then just one ****ing line it would be nice.

But to think there is some huge deep reason we aren't scoring is ludicrous.

We aren't scoring because we have all the guy capable of scoring on one line, and Richards who sadly has 2 useless jerseys covering hockey equipment on the 2nd line.

2 good wings and this team is in a way better position.

Totally disagree.

Not only do I disagree but I think we already have a great team capable of doing great things.

Another winger would certainly be welcomed but I, for one, am back on board the Kings bandwagon.

Okay, Dr. Phil

I don't believe that for a second though. If we had better players on offense this team would be so much better. But, when you have a guy like Penner and Stoll that bring little to nothing this season, you aren't going to get what you want.
