Maybe a mis-communication. Or Miller could have had his doubts too. Goalies sometime have some discretion.

Got ya. I only question it because earlier this year Ruff had the same option to pull Miller while the puck was in deep, but didn't. Eventually there was a whistle and instead of having Miller wait at the top of the circle he was pulled. An EN goal ensued within about 5 seconds.
After that sequence I made up my mind that Ruff had to go.
Ruff called Vanek's penalty midway in the third "selfish" and said it "killed us." Interesting choice of words to describe a hooking penalty. Golly gee, I hope I'm not taking Lindy's words out of context.
You have to wonder how many straws are left in the Ruff-Vanek relationship.
