I think the top 7 in the West will be there in April, and COL PHX CGY and MIN aren't sure things... Very hard to tell atm, but they're hot, gotta say that.

One game at a time... next up Dallas.

generally agree.. 1 game at a time..

...but as of this moment, we're now only 9 pts out of the #8 spot.

No. A realist would realize that if we lose 8-9 games then it's all over.

(groan) That isn't realism. A realist would understand that Anaheim's 8-1-1 record, in their last 10, isn't sustainable. Realistically, the Ducks are probably going to miss the playoffs. An 8-1-1 record is not sustainable, and they simply can't afford to lose many more games. The odds are very much against them making the playoffs.

What an unbelievable tear the ducks have been on. I'm not sure about playoffs (Anaheim would have to earn 50 out of 70 remaining points to take them to 93 points) but the Ducks, with 3 games against Calgary, 3 against Dallas, 2 games against the Coyotes, 2 games against the Kings, and 2 games against the Avalanche will likely spoil a few playoff hopes.

Nope. But it's nice seeing the team win a few games any way.

Believe, man. Believe.

Going into the All-Star break is a great way to get some rest after what has been a very successful but difficult turn around. Some teams will crash and burn. After seeing how some MLB teams can give up a ~10 game division lead lends me the reason to imagine that the Ducks could now make up 11 pts over the next 35 games. While it is going to be very difficult it's very possible.

All it takes is a few injuries or a massive slump to open the gate to some teams looking in.

I think we're still going to end up with a top 8 pick.

What a fun run the Ducks are on right now...

So many good things are happening right now, I think for a lot of people it finally feels good to be a Ducks fan once again.

Playoffs....????

I still think the Ducks will miss the playoffs by 5 points this year. Again, the slow start to the season killed them.

Man all the Ducks need to do is start strong and have a good first half of the season. Last year was an example of a good first halk and look where it got them.

A lot of things need to happen for the Ducks to get in and if they do... WHAT A STORY FOR THE NHL

I don't think they're going to end up making it (I think they'll come out slowly after the ASG and go on another tear but it will be too late by then) but I don't think we're as out of it as some think. The St. Louis Blues had a worse team than ours in the 08-09 season and went from last place at christmas to 6th in the conference.

Also, it won't take as many points this year either as the Eastern conference isn't significantly worse than the West like in previous years. I believe Minnesota who has the 8th best winning % is on pace for 90.5 points. If we win 25 more games we should be in.

A lot of things are depening on Hiller. Hope he`s back for good, but team in front of him must improve more, to be deserving PO`s.

When you go 8-0-1, it certainly helps the thought of it being possible. It would take a lot more of what we're seeing right now, but it is indeed possible. They have to win something like 75-80% of the rest of their games though.

If you could provide me with reasons why it's not sustainable, I'd maybe go along with you, but an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. Awful nice of you to throw in that loss, too. Truth be told, they haven't lost in 9, and many of them won easily against quality competition. Again, provide me reasons why they can't sustain this, or I will have to assume that it is just your negative opinion.(groan) This recent stretch is not lucky, and imo, shows they could quite possibly win 70% of their games moving forward.

Notice, I've already said "unless something unseen", so that covers injuries, etc.

Wtf does the bolded have to with this thread and how does that apply to the Ducks record over the last 10 at all? Please, I cannot wait to hear the connection.

I just got trolled, didnt I?

It means that there's no reason to believe their momentum will stop all of a sudden. Pretty easy to understand, and no clue why you would think I was trolling you? I didn't even quote you. Paranoia?

...and why go the last 10? Why not the last 12, so ya can throw in 2 more losses to make their record look worse. 8-3-1. This team is steamrolling now, bottom line, and there's no reason to believe it won't continue, other than maybe road games.

I was responding to yet another of Sojourns posts where he basically says your wrong, and he's a bit annoyed by it. I said I felt we could keep winning at a 70% clip, and he throws the last 10(8-1-1) at me, and says we can't sustain that. 70% would be 7-3 if my math is correct, which is not 8-1-1.
