KHL Junior Draft 2012

Baring mass departure to NA next draft is going to be pretty big in amounts of talent as CSKA and Dynamo are star-studded and there's a young man Nichushkin coming up as well...
http://www.sports.ru/tribuna/blogs/wolem1/197708.html
a very nice read...can we sticky that and the MHL thread as well?

I wrote it many times, I am curious who will pick (if any) Dikushin.

IMO CSKA will protect Tolchintsky, Zadorov and one of goalies.
Intresting situation will be in Kazan, they have many 95guys in MHL B. I have no idea how good they are.

We will know scouts rating at 10 may.

they can not have more "protect picks" Club has only 3.

yes, CSKA could traded players for picks but it does not mean that these acquired picks are for protection. On other hand, if you have more picks, you can choose more (your) guys.

there is how protection works:

Порядок использования права преимущественного выбора:
а) Клуб в соответствии с очередностью выбирает из квалификационного списка
игрока, являющегося воспитанником школы одного из Клубов, участвующих в
Драфте;
преимущественный выбор. В этом случае первый Клуб делает выбор еще раз;
за выбравшим его в соответствии с очередностью Клубом;

Does anyone have a list of MHL teams that have no KHL affiliation (can't protect their players, at all)?

I can make this list right now from my memory
Kapitan, MHK Khimik, Lions of St.Pete (not sure about it, they have connection to SKA), Yunost, Belie Tigre Orenburg, Gazovik, Ladya, Olympia

from MHL B only Irbis Kazan and Riga Juniors have KHL affiliation.

yes, independent (not khl affiliated) MHL teams can not protect players. This right has only KHL which fulfill one of conditions.

а) школа находится в структуре Клуба КХЛ;
рублей в год;

Would Lokomotiv really be able to protect any player they wanted this year? I know that their first-rounder will be between #1 and #4.

I don't think other KHL clubs would choose Bukarts as he's a foreigner... well, maybe except LEV, Minsk or Barys. That's why I think he'll go to Riga (if he stays in MHL next year).
He might be chosen in later rounds (as CSKA chose Gigensons) but as he's a foreigner and Riga will have its pick in the first round he's sure to go to Riga, imho.

As for nr.1, my bet now judging by U17 results would be Nichushkin, nr.2 Tolchinsky. Dikushin is in USHL and doing better and better there so I don't think teams will waste 1st round picks on him, thinking that he might return...

vorky, I know how protection works, I meant they may have more picks to draft their own players, so they can protect the 3 and use their other picks to draft their guys.

As for Dikushin - we'll see, I think he will make the NHL one day, but if he doesn't - you better have his rights, that's all I got to say.

there is speacial situation about Lokomotiv. read

Lokomotiv has right to protect unlimited number of their kids for next 5 drafts (years). To compare, other clubs has only 3 choices, Lokomotiv has unlimited amount.

Lokomotiv will be in lottery for 1st overal at KHL draft 2012, plus 21th, 22nd, 23rd team.

I know you understand protection rule. I just put rules here for another users who dont know it. And yes, we speak about the same (more picks, more choices)

I dont think that HC LEV will choose Bukarts, they will choose slovak/czechs and maybe russians (GM is Soshnikov). I have a feeling they will choose Paulovic from swedish J20, prospect of Topoľčany (like Šatan).

It all depends on who will pick 1st, 2nd. Now it is Avto, Vytyaz, LEV, Loko. If LEV would win lottery, they was not pick russian (have to pay financial compensation which is not their idea to do). Avto will choose someone from their school (not big budget, the same reason as LEV), Vytyaz we will see. I would say, Loko chose Dikushin or foreigner. Of course, there can be trades during draft day.

I dont think that one of these clubs (plus Spartak or Sibir - btw good scouting) would want to choose Nichuskin or Tolchinstky.

I have not seen any rating. I liked Serebryakov at World U17. I am curious he does not play MHL. And coach of MVD is his coach from Dynamo Moscow 95 class.
