NHL can't have it's own doctors performing the evaluations? Enormous cap and draft pick forfeiture's for a team caught cheating this rule? There are certianly ways just like how the govt/insurance agencies can monitor millions iof people attempting to fake injury claim Im sure the NHL can monitor it's thousands of players who are in the public eye 24/7

Same concept here. Not saying it's fair, but that's the way it is.
Exactly right....This is how justice system works so stands to reason NHL would follow suit. Another pillar of our justice system is precedant. We could argue how many games Ferrence deserves by judging the hit in a vacuum (some might say 10 or 12 is right), but based on the precedant we've seen set this year 3-5 seems appropriate.

good news on both. Eminger should be back in after the break then and Bickel likely waived down after Tuesdays game

Not sure if they waive Bickel yet, he'd have to pass through waivers.

fans think to highly of the guy, yea he stepped in and did a good job but Torts doesnt even play him in the 3rd period so he has no faith

plus no chance he gets claimed on waivers. CT needs some help so gets some bodies back down to them

Also EC is back on the official roster again starting Wednesday.

Hopefully they can just dump the Wolski contract soon

What is preventing the Rangers from getting rid of Wolski? Or are you referring to a trade?

McDonagh's main issue after Ference hit was having wind knocked out of him, says he believes hit not intentional

You can tell it was just the wind knocked out of him of. He was taking massive breaths after the hit.

McDonagh added he didnít realize that Ference had clipped his skate until watching the video of the hit and it was the skate to skate collision that got McDonagh off balance.
when you watch the replay, totally makes sense. skate to skate contact put McD off balance and what would have been a relatively normal -to- borderline play becomes a scary hit leading to a suspension. you normally don't expect a player to fall over like that when you are coming in on the puck like that. still, contact was initiated 4-5 ft away from the boards.

True, true. I didn't think of that. But he wasn't grabbing his side.

mcdonagh would think Chris Simons 2 hander to Ryan Hollwegs face was unintentional. guy seems to be super PC.

not that that's a bad thing.

I remember after Cooke elbowed him in brutal fashion last season, the next time the Rangers played on NBC, he was commended for his response to reporters by the commentators...after that, they said he was gonna be a star, can't say I disagree!

This is how I see it, as well. Didn't notice the skate to skate contact at first, and I was a bit surprised he fell so hard into the boards from what seemed to be a somewhat gentle (still reckless though) push.

Unbelievable he didn't get hurt on that play.. Of course, they are athletes in very good shape..if that was me, I'd probably still be hospitalized.

Isn't it incredible that just after the injury report is released that all the Marcus ****** Welby's come out of the woodwork to say they knew he was fine all the time?

Usually, if you have the wind knocked out of you, you roll round on the floor/ice. McDonagh didn't move.

For anyone that questions whether or not the Ference shove was from behind.....here you go. Ference is a lucky man that Ryan didn't get severly injured. I am keeping my eye on the puck and putting aside the injury result. The real issue is the fact that Ference is a d-man that almost killed another d-man and the act was 100% intentional. 3 games not nearly enough for this act. Ference will be looking over his shoulder a lot at MSG. In fact he will most likely be a healthy scratch.
