It obviously worked in Philly for Carter, Columbus as a whole is a horrible team. You can't use that team as a basis for a players skill. Just like the Sabres, many players here would flourish in other markets.
Meh, Carter has had every chance to succeed. He has a better player on his wing to pull away top checking. Yeah, Columbus is a mess still, doesn't mean he can't work hard and produce on a 60-70 pt click, He just isn't an elite forward like his contract says he should be. He's a secondary player making 1st line money. We have PLENTY of those in Buffalo. At least with Roy his deal is cap friendly and over in two years.
Roy would actually be a pretty good fit for Columbus. I can see him and Nash meshing pretty well and he'd probably dig the college scene. However, Unless Columbus is willing to part with their 1st or Johansen, there isn't a deal to be made there.
