Really, I haven't noticed the "stupid" penalties this year?

Stupid penalties or not, the guy is having a great season and deserves to go to the game. Even James Neal(sorry PHI fans), both guys should be heading to All-Star Weekend.

not sure his linemates should be used against him.

There are quite a few guys that have shown clearly that thet do not belong on the top lines.

Hartnell has earned his spot on the all star team.

A plick to play against, but a solid solid player.

That's because he's not taking them.

His penalties per sixty is 1.0. His penalties drawn per sixty is .90.

I agree with you but that doesn't mean he isn't an all star this year. He's straight up killing it. It's not just that he's out there with good players. He meshes and compliments them well. Remember John LeClair? Without Lindros I doubt he ever reaches 50 goals, let alone three in a row. And LeClair is my all time favorite players and Lindros is one of my all time most hated players.

Hartnell doesn't need the all star game... not when he is standing at the NHL awards at years end with the Rocket Richard trophy.

Was gona put a , but if Stamkos gets injured... well you never know!

It would be hilarity, he would just be trolling the NHL.

If you just type "All Star Game" into Google, a link tot he KHL All Star Game comes up before the NHL All Star Game.

Benn just got placed on IR for Dallas ... Hoping Scottie can take his ASG spot. He deserves it!

Although deserving, I hope he gets snubbed because he seems to use that as motivation to play in Alter-Beast mode, #beastnell

No need to say sorry to us, Neal IS having a great season too. BOTH should be going. What is going to be a real shame (and cause a real pissiong contest between the two fan bases) is if only ONE gets to go as an injury fill-in.

Honestly, they should revise the fan voting so that only one player from any one team can get voted in by the fans so there ISN'T a stuffing of the ballot box. that's just so retarded that they let fans stuff the box and vote in that many undeserving players from one team. All that does is to keep real deserving players from having the chance to go when they have actually earned the RIGHT to go based upon their play on the ice.

Hartnell finished second to Malkin for star of the week.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=613151

Quote:
Hartnell, whose career high in goals for a season is 30, now is fifth in the League with 25 goals after a huge weekend as the Flyers defeated the Devils on Saturday and lost to the Bruins in a shootout Sunday.

Hartnell scored a pair of power-play goals in their victory Saturday in New Jersey, including the goal that ended up as the game-winner. The next day, with the Flyers down a goal in the second period, Hartnell took over and recorded a natural hat trick, temporarily giving them the lead. Two of those goals also came with the man advantage, and Hartnell now leads the League with 13 power-play goals.

"He got the opportunity to play with Giroux and (Jaromir) Jagr, but at first everyone was using him to be a space-maker out there," Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said. "I don't think that's the case anymore. I think he's a key contributor and a key factor as to why that line is successful. He's got a lot of confidence right now the way he's playing. Tonight his game was excellent; he was physical and obviously offensively he did what he needed to do. He was a competitive guy out there for us. His game has been really good for a long time."

Unless more injuries happen, I see Elias getting the nod over Hartnell. Maybe even someone else from the Stars. Loui Eriksson has more points than Benn as it is.

Hartnell is tied for 5th in goals and currently out producing Marian gaborik And Jamie benn and he still isn't named to the allstar game and still has people saying he shouldnt be there. Ridiculous

Elias has more points in fewer games and there is no one from the Devils on the team IIRC. I think he deserves to be on there, but there are others who deserve it just as much. Being that there is no one from the Devils (and now Stars) I think they will go to one of those teams first. Elias-Hartnell-Eriksson all have about the same number of points. There are two Flyers already in the game.

He won't get in because the Flyers already have 4 representatives. It's a shame because he has the exact personality the NHL should want for an event like this.

There is simply not enough spots for the people who should be there. Plain and simple.

Scott Hartnell is the reason Briere had a career season last year and why Giroux is having a career season this year.

Yeah it's really ashame that the leagues 5th leading goal scorer isn't in the game, especially considering the other things he brings to a game (such as physical presence)

At this point I'm fine with it if not one Flyers gets into the All Star Game. The way things are going they're all somehow coming back with concussions anyway.
