Plenty of teams have great crowds:

Boston, Winnipeg, San Jose, Montreal, Philadelphia

Honorable mention to Edmonton during the playoffs.

Im in Montreal, a Habs fan who DETEST the Leafs. But after beign so bad for SOOOO long, Id have to say thier fans are more deserving of the title 'Proudest' over Carolina.

the Hurricaines average slightly over 15,000, 22nd ranked in the league and only fill 82% of rink. How proud are they if they dont even fill the rink?

I have been do many NHL rinks and am a hockey nut, my companies head office is in NC and I have NEVER heard a single person say that thier crowd is the loudest in NHL.
being the loudest entails being the proudest. if you weren't the proudest you wouldn't be the loudest. they probably measured the decibels during games and arrived at an average and found that carolina hurricanes are the loudest and thus the proudest also

Jets win this hands down.

3rd best home record in the east, for a 10th place team is unreal.

Holy **** that's loud and sustained. Imagine if the crowd was that loud an entire game. The entire duration?

this season when the isles make the play offs on the last day of the regular season, nothing will be louder than the rags-isles series in the first round

you do realize that video is only loud because of the recording mechanism that was used. that says nothing about how loud it actually was in the arena at the time.

I think you have alot of lead paint in your house..

Lets get a hearing doctor and have him set up a Venn Diagram showing the correlation between loudest and proudest.

Lets actually see this decible report.. proof

Here is my proof...

Here is the NHL attendance for this year to shwo the 82% pride you speak of

http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance/_/year/2011

Heres the 2010 numbers where they averages LESS than the 82% and ranked 23

http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance/_/year/2010

In 2009 they were ana amazing 20th overall.. but note 2 teams behind them still had higher percentages puitting them 22nd in that category...

http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance/_/year/2009

Oh wait... in 2008... oh 20th again! WOW two year in a row not in the bottom third of league by a hair!

WAIT!!!2007 they were 15th!! WOW TOP HALF!!

WAIT 2006!! 21st!!!

SO THE LOUDEST AND PROUDEST FANS IN CAROLINA... ONLY ONCE IN 6 YEARS ARE EVEN IN TOP HALF OF ATTENDANCE?

Nothing like playoffs hockey at MSG.

Regular season though, crowds haven't been the same due to the increase of ticket prices every year. Thanks to Dolan and his renovations.

The Prudential Center...always rockin

but yeah the Garden for a playoff game...cmon. Some buildings are built in a way that it minimizes the actual sound affect, but when it comes to intensity from fans, and knowledge goes into that along with passion and longevity of a fanbase...its the rangers. the bruins? No one cared about them 5 years ago. same with chicago.

I must admit... I feel bad for NYR fans because they pay even more than we do in Montreal...

Without question, Winnipeg was loud during the playoffs. But the idea of the packed barn and deafening noise during the regular season is a complete myth that's been addressed and debunked several times. Frankly, the packed house and the earth-splitting noise happens everywhere during the playoffs....Atlanta was extremely loud during their lone playoff series, Columbus was as well, Nashville always is, Dallas was, and so on.

Montreal is a completely different culture than the rest of NA.

The Rock only Rocks for certain games in the regular season. Playoffs games are a different story, just like with every fanbase.

Totally agreed. The Nordiques fan base will be top 3 with the Habs and Jets fans when they come back. They were absolutely amazing before the Nordiques moved away and I see no reason why that would change...

Wings fans singing "Don't Stop Believing" in Game 6 of the West Semi's was the one the loudest times I've heard a arena.

Where do 21,000+ people pay regular season prices for a pre-season game and fill the arena to watch a bunch of AHLers play a meaningless game?

The loudest and most knowledgeable fans in the world are here in Montreal, but Winnipeg is really amazing this year.
