His agent is Joe Thornton's brother. I know Hawks fans want some revenge for the Hjalmarsson sheet/Niemi poaching but it's not happening.

Doesn't matter if they do, Couture has to accept it haha.

I would hate to see couture leave but i think it would take
Macarthur, grabovski, and kadri. It is an overpayment but this kind of trade would just ruin the leafs, even if they still had kadri

We didn't poach Niemi! He wanted to sign there, the Hawks LET him walk as a FA.

and yea, this thread sucks, Couture isn't available.

That offer isn't even in the ballpark for Couture. He's far more valuable than the collective sum of those parts.

This kid is 100 % not available for anything reasonable.

He is on pace for 35 goals.. is signed cheap.. plays great D and has top line center and franchise player written all over him..

1 for 1 trades coming back.. names would be

toews
kesler
skinner
myers..

none of the teams with those players would ever consider moving them.. Same with SJ

Why trade Couture? Especially on that contract?

Leafs would have to grossly overpay to the point it wouldnt be worth it.

THIS^

BOTH teams need to have a reason to move players involved.

SJ has absolutely no reason to move Couture. NONE.

Might want to try and consider the other team's needs before throwing something out there. Sharks don't really need defenseman going forward, especially at the coast of Couture. Kadri and Colborne are big question marks at the moment. Couture is only one year older than Kadri or Colborne, and not only is he actually playing top six minutes, but he is probably the best Shark forward.

Asking for Couture is like asking for Giroux from Philadelphia (not saying Couture is as good as Claude, just in terms of how the team values the player). It's a non-starter.

Should SJ lube themselves up or is Toronto bringing some?

Seriously, talent/value wise you simply don't get much better than Couture. If anyone called DW and even tried to start a conversation about Couture my bet is he'd say "let me stop you there, he's not available".

We need a 2nd/3rd line scoring tweener that isn't a defensive liability and is a fast skater.

We need offensive prospects/picks.

Neither of those is worth trading Couture for.

Put another way. What is the Sharks biggest need? Logan Couture.

So what would it take? Kessel + ?

Kessel + Grabovksi

for

Couture + Clowe

Leafs keep some salary.

Flame away.

When Thornton declines/retires Couture is our only insurance for that #1C position. Think of how desperate you are to get a #1c and how long you have been trying to do so, then look at it from our perspective. Couture is untouchable, it would be team suicide to trade him. He is easily the most valuable player on the Sharks from a long term importance standpoint.

Kessel doesn't even interest me and Grabovski is fine, but we are loaded at center and he'd be somewhat superfluous.

Myers, Miller for Couture, Niemi, Murray

Than Buffalo flips Stafford and other forwards out
