I think this is a really good deal for the Ducks.

Beauch is a big part of that blue line, and can eat up minutes in a top pairing role. $3.5M is a great number.

This is why it's good to re-sign guys you want rather than trying to sign UFA's who get overpaid so much. You can get them at a discount.

3.5 million is a very fair deal, but he did get 3 years, which is pretty good for him.

Beauchemin is playing the best hockey I've ever seen him play, given the role he's had this year. This contract is an absolute steal if he keeps up this level of play for the next few years.

We should also remember, that Beauch didn't start playing NHL hockey until he was 25, he's only been in the league for 7 seasons. It's not crazy to think he's actually hitting his prime years right now.

Hell of a deal for ANA. He could have got about 4.5 on the open market.

Lol did you even bother to read my post?
I said calling Bieksa overpaid is like me calling Vish overpaid.

Simply put, I think Beauch got a great deal, while the Ducks also got a great deal. He's easily one of their better Dmen, and that's been a weak area for the Ducks since Nieds left.

All in all, I still believe its a great deal, same with Bieksa's

Lupul isn't the only one in that trade that benefited from a change of scenery.

Led one of the most dominant defensive units EVER in ice time in the 07 playoffs, and the guy is playing BETTER hockey right now.

Unreal. Love Beauch, hope he retires a Duck.

Not fitting in Ron Wilson's system doesn't make him garbage. I'm sure if you put Komisarek in Nashville, he'd actually be a legit all-star.
