Steve Sullivan

Sullivan isn't doing as well as we had hoped in Pittsburgh and his PP performances are very aggravating, especially when he holds the puck for too long and refuses to one-time it. I was wondering what value could be given to him for a trade as I don't see him making it here and I don't see him being resigned in the Summer.

Total HFBoard trade board fail. Thread should look like this:

"Steve Sullivan still has a ton of speed and only has a 1.5MM cap hit this year (UFA!). He's an amazing PP presence (Point to Pens PP stats last year v PP stats this year). The Pens would love to keep him, they would *hate* to part ways with him, but their injury luck is going to turn around some time, and they'll have too many forwards!

Bidding starts at Bobby Ryan."

There ya go.

Would love him back in Nashville, but he's not what we need. Great locker room guy, over the hill player.

Bummer, I was hoping Sully would do well on a top end team. Hope he doesn't have trouble finding work next year

If there's a BPA at the deadline then I can see him being dropped.

Started good but tailed off considerably since.

We need a RHS presence on the PP, he doesn't fulfill that. He does give us more zone time on the PP, but he makes too many mistakes to call him an even in that role.

His play at ES is very erratic. Some games he can use his speed and provide decent scoring chances in a third line role, but most games he's too easily muscled off pucks and doesn't give us too much for his 1.5 mil cap hit on a team that can use another top 6 forward.

I'd be all for burying him in the minors or moving him to a team that can use his skillset to give us some cap space at the trade deadline. I hoped the gap between Sully and Ray Whitney wasn't this big, but unfortunately it is.

No point moving him unless it's for someone who can fill his spot on the PP.

The guy is on pace for like a 40 point season at 1.5 million cap hit. I dont think hes been a disappointment at all. I think he brings a good veteran presence and he will be nice to have come playoffs if we lose someone in the top 6 due to injury.

Kennedy: 21 PTS
Sullivan: 22 PTS

Jagr: 34 PTS

For the cap hit and the fact they've actually been available the majority of the season, not injured like Jagr has for some periods makes them better.

Sullivan + 1st rounder to the Yotes for Ray Whitney?

Sully can still be of use in the desert and they gain a 1st for the difference.

Whitney is not getting a 1st in return...

I could see something like Sullivan + random mid prospect + 4th in return tho...

Yea, but the thing u forgot was cap hits. Jagr's salary equals to Kennedy and Sullivan together. So u tell me, what is better 43 points for ur money or 34?

I'd throw quite a bit at Phoenix to pry Whitney away. He's a hell of a player.

While whitney is a great player no way shero gives up a first for a rental.

I'm sure our teams will never trade again, but Joel Ward for Steve Sullivan?

Just don't see Sully having any trade value whatsoever at this point. Waived and sent to Wilkes-Barre is more likely.
