I'd do Eller + 1st. No matter what people say, Pominville is hardly untouchable. Really, nobody on this team should be, except maybe Myers. MTL will have a high first round pick, BUF needs to rebuild. Get a couple top 10 picks and restock for the future. Pominville is the most consistent player on the team, but as a captain, he's hardly inspirational. This team needs new leadership.
i agree 100%. he is really good all around, but this team needs to "turn the page". and 2 picks in the top 10 (or even lower, with possible other trades) would do wonders for this team.
He also resides year-round in East Amherst, New York. Apparently la belle province ain't so beautiful to Pominville.
He plays for team USA cuz it's easier to make that team than Team Canada . Off topic, I had seen him at the Montreal airport two summers ago. Exchanged a couple words, really nice guy, but didnt ask where he lived lol.

if it, along with a second (what we have now or boyes, hecht, leopold, or goose, at the deadline) will get us galchenyuk,(the #1 centre) and we still have our own #1 then hell yeah!

Actually, most of the Sabres captains throughout team history have been traded. Ruff, Foligno, Ramsey, Lafontaine, Mogilny, Peca, Barnes were all traded. Following them you have Drury and Briere who left as UFA's and Rivet who was waived. As you can see, being captain is hardly sacred in Buffalo.

You don't trade your captain when he's in his prime, having a career year even though everyone other than vanek (who has actually cooled off a lot recently) has sucked, for a guy who's projected to be a 2nd liner and a high prospect. If I'm dealing pominville to a division rival, absurd overpayment needs to be coming back to compensate. this isn't directed just at you, but why do so many people on HF seem to think that high end prospect potential>>>>a lot of good/very good nhl players who aren't over the hill or have any major problems?
Max Pac and a 1st would get me into this conversation otherwise his value though bloated to every other team's eyes is what it is....he,vanek and unfortunately miller likely wont leave anytime soon and if they do itd be for massive overpayment especially considering its to Montreal
Montreal doesn't appear to have the trade assets that it would take to get Pominville out of Buffalo.
The only way I see Buffalo dealing off Pominville right now is if they are getting a franchise #1 center in the deal.

Would've been much better to start off this thread about a year ago when Buffalo fans were proposing him in basically every single proposal involving their team on the main board.

It doesn't appear that Sabres management is interested in selling off core guys like Pominville for futures.

And if they do move Pominville, my guess is that they would want a package akin to what Philly got from C'Bus.
His mom is from Wisconsin and he has dual citizenship. You'll still find a vocal minority of fans who want him gone, they're just in hiding at the moment since his play has been one of the few good things overall for the season. He's still the same guy -- dependable, useful, doesn't dodge the press ever, usually a pretty responsible defensive player/PKer -- he was last year, just things are going a bit better for him offensively.
